Default Versamark Marker?

oK, While I was going through my craft closet I found that I do have this in my supplies.

My problem is what do I use it for? I must have felt that I needed it when I bought it but do not think I have ever used it.

I love my versamarker!!!

I use it for omitting on a stamp if I only want to emboss a certain part of the stamp-not the whole image. On this card, I just wanted to use "friend" from Lexicon of Love:
http://gallery.splitcoaststampers.co...cat=500&page=1

Another cool thing is using it to write something in your handwriting and then emboss it.

I used it on my Christmas cards this year. I stamped the deer/trees from A Beautiful Season in black, then colored the trees in with versamarker, then embossed with Irr Ice:

HTH!

Default what's wrong with mine?

I bought a Versamarker to use for embossing, and it won't work! It is not sticky at all. Is there a trick to it, or did I get a bum marker?

Help!

You can sign your cards in it and emboss. I also like to color things in and add in pearl ex to those areas-it will stick just like the Versamark pad.
You can also use it to add embossing powder to only certain areas where you want shine. I did that in the Angel's Wings
right here

It is in the DD gallery, so if you don't have access you won't see it. sorry

Default Versamarker

After I've stamped an image in ink, I use the Versamarker to color in my images and then chalk them. It makes the chalk colors darker and more vibrant.

I use the versamark pen as a touch up if there are any places that didn't emboss, then sprinkle on more powder, then reheat Linda

I do many of the things already stated above, but also use it repeat elements in the project. For instance, I have a favorite lady bug ribbon I use frequently and it has the little dots showing the lady bug path. I will use my versamarker to repeat the little "dot paths" onto the project. It is subtle, matches the project and takes no time at all!

Mine doesn't work very well either. The embossing powder doesn't stick.

I will venture to say you got a bum marker! I have had mine for a couple of years, granted I don't use it regularly, but it is still quite moist.

My versamarker is very moist, and it works as a watermark. But embossing powder just pours right off of it! It's been a while since I bought it, so I don't think I can return it. Should I try again? I really would like to use it for selective embossing. Any opinions for me?

Thanks!

Try refilling it with the reinker. The VersaMark pad is supposed to be a bit sticky, so perhaps the marker is as well?

I use mine for all kinds of things i.e. drawing little bubbles on cardstock with Fishy Friends, or grab a ruler and make a plaid backgroud alternating between the fat and thin tips.

I do stripes and borders with it. I draw squiggles on things and emboss. Trace around a cardboard square and you have an embossed frame. Add a detail to an item (for example I did a hat for my dad and wrote the name of his company on the hat and on the shirt pocket).

I saw a great project (at regional a couple of years ago, I think?) where they embossed the butterfly from Wonderful Wings, and then used the VMarker to color in all the areas inside the wing, and then used pearl-ex in those areas. Very pretty! Convinced me to buy the versamarker, but of course I never did the project...

TEMPLATES!! My favorite customer loves using hers with her templates. She has some smaller templates like our classy brass, and she just loves it!

I use it for embossing a small, hard-to-get-to area and poppin' pastels in tight areas. I use mine a lot and really like it!

I like the Versamarker for selective embossing using Irridescent Ice. I stamped the Pretty Princess, colored her in with watercolor pencils and blender pens, then embossed her overskirt and crown with II EP. I also put a star eyelet at the tip of her wand and embossed that with II EP using the Versamarker.

If your embossing powder is not sticking to your versamarker, it could be because the cardstock is soaking up the ink too quickly. Try using versamarker on glossy or even ultrasmooth cardstock maybe even the brushed mettalics, also try putting the embossing powder on as quick as you can, you should find a difference if not your marker may not be any good. Something else that helps if you find out it is the cardstock soaking in the vm ink too quick is to go over your versamarked portion twice, it should stay wetter with a second coat, and put the Embossing powder on asap.

If you stamp a letter use your versamarker to outline the rigth side and bottom of letter this gives it a shadowed effect.

My question is how do you refill the versamarker?

HTH

I used my Versa Marker for the very first time on Saturday. It was just what I need to do the Poppin' Pastels. I love it.

Funny you should mention that. I had a Hero Arts Dragonfly stamp that was just an outline. That is exactly what I did. And I thought I was being so creative.

Default versamarker

I have heard that you can also use it to draw on your white hard boiled eggs before you dye 'em for Easter. The Versamark ink will resist the dye ink and the design you drew will show thru!! I have yet to try it, but plan to real soon...
