Default Using your free bernat disco fibers

I couldnt figure a good use for jungle jive disco fiber on a card, so I decided to make one of the cute hairy fiber knit scarves. I guess I should have thought about it before I did it as it looks like Christmas garland, a long skinny green one, now I just have to add lights and I can put it around my front door. Anyone had any better uses for theirs?

At least you got a decent color! Mine's an unusual shade of brown.

I got a brown too, but I love Earthy colors, so I might figure something out.

I tried giving mine to my mom so she can knit me a scarf. She's retired so I thought this wouldn't be a big deal. Ugh! She said she doesn't like knitting with the new fangled yarn and only likes "normal" yarn. Oh well. I can see using the fibre with the tag stamps that come in the Terrific Tags Punch box, that is in the winter mini catalogue.

I got a green/brownish one. A nice surprise. thought about the scarf thing, too - but wasn't sure of the color - but it might be a nice contrast against all that snow gathering in my yard :p - we are at 130 inches of cumulative (is that the right word?) snow this year - already at half of our normal snow accumilation for the year. and it's only December. we are in big trouble!!!

My mom calls these hairy scarves "Monkey Scarfs" So, I was out on the town today with my Jungle Jive Monkey Scarf on and.... I have never had so many compliments! It was amazing, they all thought it was extremely festive and fun.
I might consider knitting other peoples for them for a small fee They only take a little over an hour and one roll is enough for one scarf.

I got a brown one too.

Is one roll really enough to make one of those "monkey" scarves?

I don't know how to knit, but I can crochet. I wonder if it would work to crochet it:confused:

I used size 19 needles, and I did 8 stitches wide. It was perfect.

I got the green too. I tried to crochet a scarf but gave up, the yarn is too hard to work with. So I got out my knitting needles Size 11, 30stiches, wasn't thinking, had to go buy 3 more skeins to finish @ $4.87 a skein!!! It turned out nice. I am faster and better at crochet but knitting with this yarn is the way to go it is so forgiving you can't see if the stitches are not uniform.;) I thought about making the wreath that was pictured with one of the idea sheets that came with the yarn, wish I would have would have saved me $15!

Merry Christmas!!

Default green yarn...

hey,
i got my free yarn also but i have an insane hate for green-
our first home was decorated in green, many different shades in every room including the livingroom carpet...anyway...

i found the same yarn at that "wally place" and they didn't have any problem exchanging it for a different color...
can't wait to find time to try this yarn on my knitting machine!!!!!
