I am hoping that someone might be able to help me come up with some ideas...an inspiration....for a unique wedding invitation. One of my customers and his partner are getting married and he wants to create his own invites. He is having a Hawaiin Pig Roast so it needs to be a fun, not so much formal invitation. I have the 'All the Best' set that I thought I could use maybe...but designing this is really stumping me!! And if there are other sets out there that people feel is appropriate I can try to get my hands on it if I don't already have it. If anyone has any suggestions or pictures that they would be willing to share I would greatly appreciate it!!
I only have about a week to come up with some designs so thanks in advance for your prompt responses!
I will think about this one!! My sister is getting married and wants a few ideas too so anything fun I come up with I will forward your way! Give me time though because I am working on Valentines stuff as we speak so this wil lbe my next project!
I think a cute invitation woud be printing the wording on either white card stock or vellum and stamping flowers from the SU set Love witout End in bright colors and then stamping the outline of the flower with co-ordinating colors. I have made many invitations for weddings, so if you would like, please email me at [email protected] for more ideas. I would love to help!
My suggestion is to check out Painted Prints (SAB set) in the gallery. I think those flowers look very Hawaiian. I would use bright colors, Tempting Turquoise, Pink Passion, YoYo Yellow, Green Galore, Lovely Lilac, Real Red. You could even stamp the flowers along the edge and then trim the paper around the petals. Use an organic looking fiber to tie around the card and wah la...a luan wedding invitation!
Please post what you come up with. I'm excited to see what you do.
Do you have Tropical Blossoms? Since it is informal, have you seen the Tiki Man and Tiki Woman cards in the gallery? Also, you said "one of my customers and his partner" and "he wants to create his own invite." If they are a male couple, you could focus more on the Tiki Man card. I made it and used the shaving cream technique as a background. I liked the way it came out. You could attach vellum with brads over it with the invite wording printed from the computer. Just a thought.

Hawaiian Shirts! Maybe make a template so he can cut a shirt shape out and stamp it. See if you can find someone with a Sizzix or similar die cut machine - maybe enlarge a die cut from Mikes and form a template.

Have you seen the folded hawaiian shirts? You could print the invite on the back side of the paper, stamp the other side with an "open here"on it and fold them up and send them away. I agree that tropical prints is very hawaiian.
I love the Hawaiian shirts idea. To make it even faster, use the Batik Wheel (retired) to decorate the cardstock with the white cartridge. It looks very Polynesian! Good Luck!

I think it would be great to use the Beautiful Batik set to create the Hawaiian background or the matching wheel. What kind of humor do these guys have? You might want to use the pig stamp from "It's a Party" set to do something cute with. Or put a little Hawaiian t-shirt on the pig!
I did a hawaiian shirt card last year. I cut a shirt out of summer sun cardstock. Then I stamped it with the flower from mini-messages (I didn't have tropical blossoms yet) Next, I punched a little square for a pocket and stamped the "relax sandals" stamp from a little love (I think that's what it's called... 2004 SAB set). I used pink passion, green galore, tempting turquiose, lovely lilac, etc. for the flowers. Turned out cute IMHO.
Oh I just thought of the flip flop cards that were so popular last year! I made a ton of them but gave them all away or I'd post one for you. PM me if you are interested. I could whip one up to show you.
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions....I am loving the Hawaiin shirt ideas! Now I just need to play around. Thankfully my workshop has been pushed back to later this month so it gives me a little more time!!
