I thought it would be smart to buy some uninked cartridges for my wheels until and today I squirted some Certainly Celery ink in frommy re-inker and make a holy terror mess! How much do I put in? What did I do wrong???

I have never inked one myself, but am planning on it for a project, but I would think that putting it in slowly and rubbing it in a little at a time so it has a chance to soak in....just guessing, as that is what I did with my stazon.

I have inked the plain cartridges and yes, it is best done as NYStamper suggests. Put the nozzle on the sponge, squirt a bit back and forth, use the nozzle to turn the sponge, add a little more. When you get around once, let it sit for awhile to soak in. You can look at the side of the sponge to see when ink has sunk to the core, then you know it is pretty saturated, but add just a bit more. Don't add too much at once. When you get the wheel in the handle, roll back and forth a few times on scratch paper to see if there is enough ink or too little. If too much ink, you might have to wad up a paper towel and press to the cartridge sponge to try to soak up the overload.

Versamark ink will dry out faster in a cartridge, you will probably need to refresh that more often. I keep my cartridges in a zip lock bag to help prevent drying out.
