I guess because I've got a techie type of teenage boy, I can't get enough of the robots and the anime stuff because he loves it and I try to make cards that he'll think are cool.
I love:
Grunge (love what Tim Holtz does with about everything!)
Collage
Graphic (like the graphic t-shirts)
office & academic stuff (like ledger paper, notebook paper, graph paper, technical drawings)
bees
old drawing styles (like Leonardo DiVinici notebook drawings and writings)
nature colors
worn look (just to where stuff looks older and not ruined)
I hate:
professional stamps and artwork designed to look like less than a two-yr old made it
tons of layers on designs (some look like it would take a fork-lift to pick up!)
anything and everything in trendy colors at the exclusion of classic colors

fun idea...I'll join in...
I love...
the Clean and Simple (CAS) cards
tree images and cards
ladybug images and cards
new and creative ways to attach ribbon and other embellishments to cards
SCS card galleries
I loathe...
cards that have SO MUCH stuff going on it would never fit in an envelope
butterfly images (I've seen enough)
fairies images and cards
all the time it takes to find the stamp set I'm looking for

Last year I lamented the explosion of owls everywhere. Now I'm calling cupcakes "the new owls." Nice to know I'm not alone on not getting these two trends. I also dislike the trend I see in magazines that every card and project has patterned paper and a die cut or two -- bring back stamps and inks! I like what I've always liked but about a year ago I started doing more in a street/extreme style. I was totally over distressed and vintage stuff but it seems to be coming back. (Not to me but to the stamping world!)

LOVE:
background stamps (full size and builder size)
clean and simple look
kraft cardstock
bees
sentiments with two kinds of fonts
larger sentiments
rounded corners
gingham (not trendy, but it is on the cover of this month's Martha Stewart magazine, so I'm hoping by listing it here, you will mistake it for a trend and make it a trend...)
embossed backgrounds
felt
Do NOT like:
staples
rows of large ruffled ribbon
huge flowers
pom poms and other items that belong on curtains
weird stuff on cards, like game pieces...
things that could go south on me fast if we overdo it:
sun
clouds
balloons

I'm with Jennifer's first post almost 100%, altho don't mind cupcakes. After all these years of what I call Somerset Studio-type cards (birds with crowns and gumboots on and sad little depressed looking children with watch parts for their bodies!) I still can't get my head around that 'look'. I guess it's called artistic licence and we're all entitled to our taste (or lack of it! LOL). This is a fun thread, knowing I'm not alone anymore.

Hmmmm....
For today I'll say:
Love:
Paper (self-made) flowers (although I think am reaching saturation soon)
images to color with my copics (but no cartoony kids or people)
SU stuff
free digis
embossing folders
Nesties (wish SU would make some)
SCS challenges
the Medalion stamp
Pearls
peircing
ribbon and buttons
Loathe (or strongly dislike):
Build a bear stuff (sorry, no offense, but I actually do loathe these)
vintage on overload (so many embellies you can't see the card)
CAS done poorly (which is usually me, they just look unfinished)
'Hummel-like' or 'Anime-like' images
wings on doll heads
Bellas (why don't they have arms?)
Tim Holtz style grunge (it's just not for me)

artwork of little kids- some adult 'interpretations' are OK, some not
CAS

tiny stamp images
any colouring medium to experiment with
yellow (but don't use it all that often because many people don't like lots of yellow)

monochrome colour schemes
nature images
Dont' like:
most multi-layered, 'fluffy', 'busy' stuff, but there are always exceptions
most 'grunge' and 'vintage' style things

Looks like it was drawn by the same person who draws those Pokemon characters. Cartoon, Manga-style art. Google Anime' and you'll come up with examples.

This is a tough crowd...not sure what side of the love/loathe columns my own creations would end up on!
I suppose I'm safer to just list mine as stuff I use and don't use.
Stuff I use:
Patterned paper
Lace
Buttons
Sewing
Anything that combines needle art/sewing with card making
Birds
Shabby Chic vintage
Primitive Country
Gingham
Kraft cardstock (Pure Luxury is the best!)
Flowers and pearls
Stuff I either don't have or don't use:
Nesties
Die cuts
Solid image stamps
embossing powder and all things messy
Lots of fancy tools
I can't think of a color I don't like. It always turns out that as soon as I say I don't like something, I'll see an awesome creation that someone made with that very thing I said I didn't like, and then I'll want it, too!
