Red face Too much use of a stamp

I can't believe this, I went to stamp an image today with an older stamp I have had for quite a while and noticed that the black ink on the label is starting to wear off. Of course I think I have had this set for five years or more. Too funny. I have never seen that happen before.

Just had to share this, it kind of cracked me up.

Yep, that has happened on plenty of my well-loved stamps. At least the rubber is still in excellent condition!

Same here. I stamped the image on white paper, then adhere it to the front of the woodblock with laminate paper--good as new.

I've had the same thing happen on a few of my well-loved sets.

Are there finger-shaped grooves in the wood?

I have a demonstrator friend who puts clear packing tape (or is it contact paper?) on top of her labels. I tend to sell my stamps as soon as they are discontinued, so I haven't had that problem.

I've had that problem too. I also have a problem with some of my masks that I saved and then stored on the stamp not coming off.

I'm wondering what favorite stamps are you wearing the label off of? My first is Watercolor Garden.

I have two sets with seriously worn labels - One is the old Hockey set that I can't remember the name of - the one in the 2000 catalog I think. The worst one by far is my DD Sunflower stamps (can't remember that name either) - I think they were from 1999?

Unfortunatley, I didn't use to store my stamps in the boxes, so my older sets aren't labeled

And there's four in 'platitude-quoting idiot'. Go figure.
