Default Too Many!

I just looked over the new catalog on-line, and I'm so disappointed! There are sooo many circles and flourishes, a lot of very simple art work, and not much of anything else!
I'm very down about the flower and nature sets...they retired so many, and there's only one new set I want in that category.
I was hoping to spend at least $300.00 on my first order so that I can get Garden silhouettes, but it's going to be difficult to come up with that much. I'm at around $200.00 in sets and accessories, and the In Color paper, pads, and refills will only add another $80.00 or so.
I should be getting my catalog soon, and I'm hoping that having it in my hands will help.
Of course, then I'll have to find $35.00 in free merchandise that I want! LOL!

I totally agree with you. How many circles, flourishes and 5 or 6 petal flowers do you really need. I think they are cutting corners on stamps!

Gee, I was just thinking there were too many cutsie animals. Bundle of Joy, Bundled in Love, Zoofari, Wild about you, Silly Sealife, Here Kitty Kitty, Unfrogettable, and of course DOG GONE IT!!!!! I never liked stinkin cute- the skunk looks like a snail shell. I don't mind lid friendly sets, but there are FOUR for new babies. JMHO

While SU did retire a lot of stamps, I think a lot of people are forgetting that there will also be a whole new catalog, the same size as this one, in January. Even more stamps. This Fall/Winter catalog is just to get us through to December. There will also be the Holiday mini. So, while you may not like much in this one....watch out for those talented Splitcoasters to change your mind with their awesome samples!

oh, trust me, I completely know what you mean. I was actually EXCITED that they didn't have an alphabet set in this catty that I just "have to have". Isn't that sick? I'm excited that they do NOT have an alpha set ! :-D

You know, I was kind of dissapointed too but the more I look through the catty more things start to grow on me. And, when we start seeing cards in the gallery we'll get ideas and want more sets. That's what happened to me last year!

and what is UP with that circle set on page 72 "So Much?" Should be more like "Too Much", too much $$ for something I could draw with my eyes closed!!!

I have to agree $31.95 is a lot to spend on that set!

In Canada, that set is $43.95 and I thought the very same thing.

Happy Heart, I'm so with you on Garden Silhouettes--that's the hostess set I want, too! But may I suggest that you see if a friend wants to go in on the order with you to get it? You're not that short on meeting the total requirement, and if you've got a friend who just wants a set or two, she may be willing to help you out. I won't have a problem hitting $300 to get it, LOL! Of course, once you have the real catty, perhaps you'll change your mind. That makes a big difference to me.

Also, as Kimberly pointed out, the January catty for Spring/Summer will have lots of other stuff in it--and I'm sure there will be some more flowers. Fall/ Winter really isn't the time for flowers. This new catty arrangement will definitely take getting used to, especially for us scrampers who are always behind on our scrapbooks and working off-season.

Yes, Susan, it would be wonderful if I could find someone who wanted a set or two, but, unfortunately, most of my friends aren't really that into stamping. They'd rather buy cards from me! LOL!

I'm thinking I may be able to make the minimum for the level 2 set if I go through my papers and reinkers to see what I may need. I could always spend the $35.00 on an accessory I wouldn't normally buy, but might want to try out. Having the catalog in hand usually makes a difference.

What's this? I've been out of the stamping world for over a year...is there no longer an annual catalog, but a semi-annual? We're getting 2 a year?!

I just placed my first order and it came to $600! I bought a lot of accessories, designer papers, ribbons, and all of the new punches. I'm excited about Bronc Buster and Wanted because I've wanted Wild Wild West forever but refused to pay Ebay prices. Now I feel like I got that set at bargain prices. Just wait until you start to see the samples coming out. Some people have such vision and come up with amazing samples from a set that didn't, initially, appeal too much. Boatloads of Love is a nice one too.

Just looked back at my order and I ordered 17 sets as well as a brass embossing template. Can you tell I like this catty?? LOL.

First, How could you be "out of the stamping world" for over a year???
Second, yes we have two catties a year now. We will get a holiday supplement sometime around mid to late August, and then a brand new large catty in January.

I love the new book, and am still trying to whittle down my overly large list!!

Oh my goodness! I had no clue! Well, I guess I don't have to wait an entire year for "the big day" anymore, just half, lol. (I, sadly, was going to school and had neither the money nor the time to stamp--but I'm baaaaaack!)
