Default Tiny Clothespins

Not sure if I am posting this in the right place, but I have a question. I bought some tiny clothespins because I thought they were cute. I'm not sure how to use them...it seems like if I pin them on a card they are turned the wrong way and may open up in the mail, etc. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks!

How cute are these cards using clothespins!!

I use bulky cards when I'm including a card in a package/box. If I really want to send just the card, then I pay the extra expense and use the padded envelope.

I wonder if you glued the clip together as you added it to your card it would stay together better. Maybe a bubble mailer to keep it safe?

Lol, I too bought some of these a few years back and then never used them because they are too bulky. They look cute sitting in a jar on my desk but....

I like the idea of using them on a card that will be given with a gift. Hopefully, they would survive simple transport by hand, but can't imagine them going thru the mail safely, unless put in a bubble envelope. That seems like it wouldn't be very cost effective!!!

I also have a pack of these cute tiny little clothespins and haven't used them yet.

When I looked at some of the Pinterest cards, I had a light bulb moment. I'll bet if you used glue dots on the back of the pins and attached them flat to the card, they might stay upright.

Gonna give that a try next time I make a card.

I buy clear boxes for lumpy cards so I usually use them to clip on some lumpy thing to a card front.

like this Pockets of Buttons ~ HYCCT1316 by JBgreendawn - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

or this Spool of Blessings HYCCT1210 by JBgreendawn - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

not a card, and in a big clear bag. DTGD13ArizonaMaine Happy Hours by JBgreendawn - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

oh Angie did a really cute one this morning it can be seen here:

LOVEFEST2014F, QFTD205 - Just Because You're You by ohmypaper! - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

hth,

but I think if I were mailing these they would have to be in a box or a padded envelope with cardboard inside of it.

I glued the tiny pins on this card TLC431, CAS222 Lookin' for Laundry by Mrs Noofy - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers . It didn't need to go in the mail..just hand delivered but a bubble envy would work fine I'm sure.

Interesting to know holtzfan. I've always LOVED tiny things and use cute things I find on my cards. It is one of the things I love the most about making cards and scrapbooking!

For those that decorate an Easter tree, you could make little banners and then pin them on with the mini clothes pins.

Are these the Stampin Up ones? Because they are REALLY TINY! I bought some of them when they were on clearance rack thinking they were the same size as the Amuse Studio ones but they were a lot smaller....

I plan on making magnets out of them still, though, like I did with the Amuse Studio ones. I had made butterfly magnets out of those and can still do the same with these, they will just be smaller. Attached a very small and strong magnet to the back...I used 1/4" neo magnets. Use a die cut or punched out butterfly from cardstock or DSP and glue it to the center of the clothespin. Add some rhinestones down the center. Makes a super cute magnet and you can even use the clip part of the clothespin to hold items too.

You could also use them on a tag, a banner, or another non-card item.

Default Another use for clothespins...

I bought this super HUGE spiderweb at KMart after the season for .89. I use the clothespins to pin my cards to the web. With it covered with cards, you can't even tell it's a spider web. It hangs on the door in my craft room. LOVE it!

Wink Alternate Idea for Tiny Clothespins

I also loved those tiny clothespins and bought up several colors. I use mine to attach cards, tags or banners to ribbon so I can hang up and display as a garland. ;)

There are so many wonderful ways to use this embellishment on cards. The gallery section is fabulous...card after card with clothespins here and there. My favorite was a card with a skunk image, the nose pinched with a tiny clothespin...Cancer Stinks! Gotta love it! Thanks for rekindling my desire to employ this interesting embellishment.

A few years ago I bought a big sack of little clothspins from Oriental Trading, so there was no way I was going to use them all up on cards or other art. Mine are 2 inches long and work just like the big ones. I got the idea to make what I call an Inspira-Line for my wall. Thin wire threads right through the coil spring "O" on the clothespin, enabling them to slide back and forth on the wire. In this photo (hope I uploaded it correctly) that I have attached, you can see my Inspira-Line holding atc's that I made for a swap.
