Default TAC stamp mounting ??

I got my first set of TAC stamps. Do I mount them on the foam and then cut them out or do I cut them out, mount them on the foam, then cut the foam?

Either way. You might want to take the sheet of rubber, ink it with permanent ink and stamp it to the cling side of the foam, adhere the whole rubber sheet before cutting out the images (so you can see the image while stamping KWIM?). If you cut them first I find this is sticker and requires more cleaning of the scissors.

It is easier to adhere the rubber sheet to the sticky side of the cling sheet first before cutting. And if you do stamp the image on the cling first, make sure the ink is dry, then put the paper coating back on the cling. It cuts much easier with the paper coating, IMO.

Good luck!

Personally I always felt it was easier cutting the rubber first, applying to foam and then cutting that. One hint, keep a cloth with dishwashing fluid on it, that way you will be able to rub the scissors in the soapy substance before cutting and it will keep your scissors from gumming up.

Need to add, cloth should be wet so it is soapy.

I am new to the unmounted and don't like to use Staz on because of staining, so I have a dumb question, wouldn't permanent marker stain????

They make a Stazon cleaner that removes all the ink as long as you do not let it set for a long time...it is great stuff!!! I always use stazon because it is permanent and does not bleed when watercoloring, etc.

My answer is BOTH! LOL! I cut off some of the excess as I love to end up with extra of the EZ mount for other stamps. Then I put it on the foam and then trim closely to get a perfect match of rubber and foam.

I've done it both ways!
And prefer to place the stamp sheet on the rubber and then cut them out!

Just peel of the sticky side of the foam and place it on your rubber sheet. then peel the other side of Cling side. and then cut out.
this way you are only cutting once not twice.
Then place them either in the plastic case they came in or in CD case.

I have never used StazOn on my cling foam. I use a plain piece of paper to index my stamps.
Since I use CD cases to store my stamps in. I cut a piece of paper the same size as the CD case.
And then stamp the image on the paper.
Place it inside the CD case and then label the end of the CD case so I know what the name of the set is.

I've heard pro's and con's on using StazOn on your cling foam!..

I just choose not to do it!.

Here is a good example on how to mount your unmounted stamps

I do the staz-on on the cling side before I put my stamps together, that way the image is on the back of the foam. Then I clean the rubber and adhere it to the sticky side of the foam. Then I cut it apart. I did do a word document that has the instructions for this technique on my computer, PM me and I will email it to you.

I cut the rubber first. I've saved whole sheets of mount that way and stretch it that much farther.
