I was wondering if SU has mentioned to any Demos if they would consider offering cling type labels for current sets that are still wood mounted? This way those who wanted to unmount themselves could do so, use the cling label and order empty UM cases to store them in.....
I understand not offering retired sets, but current ones would be really handy.
Wouldn't that be awesome?! We haven't heard anything, yet.
You should send an email to Stampin' Up! requesting it. If you ask for it, they might produce it!
This would be a great marketing move! At the moment, I am talking myself out of buying any current SU set - only buying those out of the mini that are offered as UM, then will wait for new set to come out that I can buy that way. If they offered these labels, there are a few more sets in the current catalog I'd buy.
I asked my demo about this tonight at stamp club. She hasn't heard anything and this is actually her first experience with UM stamps. Our group wonders SU could change the stickers that they send with the wood-mounted stamps to ones like the new UM sets. That way you could mount the stamps traditionally on the wood blocks and use the stickers, or apply the stickers directly to back of the stamps. Could be a great way to transition those sets that are currently only wood-mounted!

Mindy...that's an excellent idea!! You should definitely send this to SU!
Thanks everyone for your responses. At least I don't feel weird that I'm the only one who would find that useful. I'll email it from me, but the more the merrier!
I know someone who has been using the stickers to make her SU sets unmounted for years. She puts her stickers on the sticky part of the foam. Then to make her stamps cling, she coats the sticker with Aleene's (sp?) Tack it Over & Over and that turns them into cling mount sets. The down side is that they still wouldn't come with the nifty "DVD" case.
There is a THIN ez mount foam that works for SU stamps. You just peel off the backing of the stamp and stick it to the foam--sticky side to sticky side. The other side of the foam is then usable on clear mounts.

Does that still let you use the stickers? Is it see through? Or is that just for if you want to do cling mount with out the stickers?

How are the stickers different on the UM sets from the wood block stickers. I love the wood blocks and how they are now and don't want to see them change. And I say my dh has problems with change. LOL! Not trying to start an arguement or anything just asking.
