Default Is this the SU matchbox die?

A Colourful Life:

This blog post says the matchbox is the SU matchbox die, but then it shows it holding only two nuggets, but I think the matchbox holds 4.
Do you think it's the same die?

I think it is the SU matchbox die. The box is the same size as a box of matches and there is no way it could hold 4 nuggets.

Well... if you google the die, a lot of photos show it holding the 4 nuggets. I'm wondering if she adapted it somehow or if they are giant-sized nuggets or something?

That is definitely the Matchbox die, maybe the images of the others are not. Wonder if some smarter than me person figured out how to fold the paper somehow and make it bigger?

I'm wondering - are there two different sized dies perhaps?

Red face

I just made a SU matchbox and the finished box is 3/4" high x 2 3/4 long x 2" wide.

Now that I look at it you could put 4 nuggets. Color me embarrassed!! In my mind I was thinking about the little Hershey's candy bars not short fat nuggets.

Thanks for doing that, Stamphappy. So, do you think there are two dies? Or did she adapt hers somehow? I tried to email her, but the link didn't work, so I left a comment on her most recent blog entry, even though the nugget box was from 2010!

I think the box in the blog post and the one in the video use 2 different size nuggets.

I looked back through my blog and the only post I had with SU"s match box was a pop up that held 3 chapsticks Addicted to Stamping: Matchbox Pop Up

I seem to remember not being able to find the right sized nuggets

Like Jackie said, I think it's more about the size of the nuggets.

There is another thread about Nugget sizes and it seems that there is a difference between Canadian and US. From the thread:
the Canadian ones measure 1 1/8" by 1 3/4" ... the ones I got in Chicago were 1" by 1 3/8"!

wow, I didn't know they were different sizes depending on the country of origin. :0)
But, even the bigger size of the nuggets wouldn't fit that snugly into those box measurements, do you think?

There are also the Nestle Treasures, which look a lot like the Nuggets, but they are a different size. I'm not sure of the exact sizes, but in the downloads forum with the directions for Nuggets boxes of all different sizes, there are separate instructions for Treasures, with different dimensions.

OK you made me go to the candy jar. I can put 2 FUN size candy bars or 4 mini's (1x1") in the box. It's a tight fit for the FUN size but the cover still fits. With the mini's there is a little over a 1/4" lengthwise space left over.

I finally got out the ruler and the box is 1/8" too short for the US but I think you stuff them in they would fit and not bulge that much. To me it's the US version because the box is way to short for the Canadian Nuggets.

Well, since the candy is on my desk I guess I'll have chocolate for breakfast. : )
