Default Storing "naked" rubber stamps

I've been unmounting my SU stamps and experimenting with what to do after I get them off the foam.

I like stamping with the naked rubber too, but I haven't decided how to store my stamps yet so they're safe but easily accessible.

I'm thinking of cutting overhead transparencies the size of SU medium boxes and then either putting a small piece of poster tape on the back of each stamp or directly on the transparency so that the stamps will stick on the cut down transparency sheets.

I think 3 or 4 transparency sheets of naked stamps should fit in each SU box.

Would you please share how you are storing your naked stamps?
Thanks in Advance.

I don't have a lot of unmounted stamps, so I'm not terribly particular about their storage. Perhaps you might try CD or DVD cases? I know a lot of people who prefer that storage system.
Hope this helps.

I store mine stuck to transperency sheets (overhead sheets) and put in a 3 ring binder with a zipper. I love them stored this way, easy to transport and you can have pages divided by type for different sets of stamps.

Well, you can cut up the bottoms and lids of the extra SU clam shells, you can use photo pages and 6 x 9 envies cut in half, that's what I use.

I cut the bottoms and lids of the SU and TAC boxes to the size of my 6 x 9 white or manilla envelopes sealed and cut in half, indexed with the stamp set on the font and filed in alphabetical order in Cropper Hopper or Karen Foster Snap Boxes.

Works great, cheap and small storage.

I don't use EZ-mount for my unmounteds--I use Aleene's Tack It Over and Over. I stamp images with my new stamps on a white piece of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock. I slip the cardstock INSIDE of a plastic page protector designed for a three ring binder. Then I stick my unmounteds on the OUTSIDE of the page protector just a little bit to one side so I can see the stamped image underneath. Then I store the pages of stamps in three ring binders. You can buy the plastic page protectors (sometimes called sleeves) at dollar stores or in most school supply sections of discount stores.

I keep mine in plastic baseball card collector sheets. They fit in a 3 ring binder. I use one sheet per set. Works great and I can get 10 sheets for $1 at the dollar store.

I had laminated poster board left over from my teaching days. I have cut it down to fit inside various SU cases...whatever I have that's 'emptied out'. It works great...lots sturdier than just a transparency, I would think.

I'm searching for the perfect storage system myself. I just read another post that states that if you use the EZMount foam you should not mount them to acetate (transparencies) because acetate has a chemical in it that will react with the cling on the EZMount. The warning is posted on Sunday International. Here is a link: http://www.sundayint.com/index.asp?P...TS&Category=57

i took about half of my Stampin up stamps off the wood. With them i used the thick EZ mount
for my new ones i left the foam on an used the thinn ez mount but that the stamp was too thick to store in a cd case cause it would not close anymore.
i bought some storing sheets from sunday international to store the stamps in a binder. did not work for me cause i coulndt find a thing anymore.

so i have found this company... www.sleevetown.com and got the DVD jumbo jewel cases. infact i have noticed that they now advertise on scs.. i thing a lot of stampers buy now from them the cases.

i looooove my new system. i can still store my stamps in "sets" or if they are singles by theme. when i look for a special stamp i just flip through my cases.

great!!!!

Instead of acetate, you may want to try DuraLar. It's an artist grade material that looks exactly like acetate, but it is used to protect artwork so it may be manufactured without some of the harmful chemicals.

This is what I do too. I also stamped all of my wood mounted stamps (that I haven't unmounted yet) onto regular office paper, and put these sheets in the binder too, by category. I have about 15 different categories, and this helps me see what I have at a glance.

There are some great ideas on this thread! Thanks for sharing!

About using CD cases for storage.....do you buy them without the CD holder or does that part of the case come out?

Concerning CD cases: the CD holder just pops out of the case.

I use CD cases for mine, I think there isn't a set I've got yet where I can't fit all the set in one case. Then I just stick the stickers on the front of the case, and the title on the side. It works great for me - but you need to be careful not to have any where they might get squashed by the little round bits that normally hold an insert in, or along the spine.

Default UM storage

I use the page protectors that have a sheet of ugly CS purchased in my pre SU days inserted to give it body. Insert shivering smilie here! Some of that stuff is truly fugly! Then the bare rubber clings to the PP. I use two way glue and it is sooooo simple to use. Saves tons of space. My next project is to use my tab punch to mark and organize the sections.

You may want to check out this link to Store More Stamps. I have purchased several systems and love the way they work with the unmounted stamps. Shipping is quick and they are so nice.

Sharon - i'm struggling with my naked rubber storage as well. i have some unmounted rubber on cling foam, i have some with aileen's TIOAO, then some nekkid stamps

i really like CD storage for most of my non-wood mounted stamps, but that doesn't really work for naked rubber as they want to fall out of the opening. so, i have a few 'calendar cases' which look just like CD cases, but they don't have that little opening when you pop out the innards. in fact, i don't think they ever had an inner tray. i don't worry about them slipping out, but i don't like that they 'flop' around inside the case.

i think i'm going to mount all my bare rubber on cling foam. then stick them inside a CD case.

i'll be watching this thread. i'd like to see how others are storing bare naked rubber.

6 x 9 catalog envelopes, sealed, cut in half. Photo sleeves, stamps stick to photo sleeve ( I have bare rubber with spray adhesive or Aileens on the back). Sta p image or apply sticker to front of half envie and store in snap boxes from OT.

Easy, cheap, works great.

I have a use for the part that holds the CD in the case. I use it as a "shelf" to hold my large stamp pads. I have a CD holder for my unmounted stamps that I store in the CD cases. The black (usually) part that you take out of the case to put the stamps in works great and fits perfectly. I hope this makes sense.
