Default Stores in the Twin Cities

I am headed to the Twin Cities the end of the week and I wanted to check what stamping and scrapping stores are still around. I was there last summer for a few days and did some major damage shopping, but I think some of the stores have closed.

I am aware of Archivers in MOA and Woodbury as well as Anchor Paper. What other stores are in the area? Did the other LSS in Woodbury close?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

I had a rummage sale last week and feel that I have additional money that I can use to replenish my stock of supplies

There is another Archivers in Apple Valley.

There are smaller, independent scrapbook shops in Blomington, Chanhassen, St. Paul, Hastings, White Bear Lake. Memory Mania in Woodbury is now closed as in Binding Memories in Roseville. Let me know what area of the Twin Cities you are interested in and I can send names/addreses.

I am staying in Minneapolis, around Minnehaha (sic) Park. So, anything on the southern end is good......................unless it is a great store that I should not miss!

Uptown has a cool paper store, on Hennepin and 30th (somewhere around there - its across the street from Calhoun Square, further to the south).

In case you wanted the name, I'm assuming this is Paper Source that is being talked about.

Though a bit out of your way... I LOVE "The Scrapbook Shop." It's on Snelling Avenue in Saint Paul.

Default Welcome!

Hope you have a blast up her in the Twin Cities! Don't forget that there is a wonderful JoAnn Superstore in the Edina area (close to the Southdale shopping center). That's even closer to where you are staying than Bloomington.

There is an Archivers Store right in the Mall of America. It's not huge, but has a ton of stamps, wood-mounted as well as acrylic, and scrapbooking supplies too.

The store in Chanhassen is called Smudges. It is definately worth the drive. The place is loaded with tons of stamps!! The ladies that run the store are wonderful, however I believe they are only open until 6pm each day, which for us workin' girls makes it a bit hard to get to...
www.smudgesstamps.com

Scrapbooks Too is nice; they don't have much for stamps, but have a nice selection of paper...full line of Bazzill CS and lots of Basic Grey stuff. Someone above listed their info.

You mentioned Anchor Paper...I frequent their Burnsville store. They always have tons of goodies....Nestabilities, too. Have fun!!

You should also check out Paper Depot in Mpls near the Farmer's Market...they have an excellent variety of card stock and gorgeous papers. Just an FYI- the Anchor Paper store that was in Mpls moved to University Ave near the KSTP tv station. White Bear Lake has 2 stores, The Gathering (already mentioned), and Stamp Garden. WBL is also just a fun place with other cute shops so might be a nice side trip. Enjoy!

I stopped at Archivers in Woodbury on the way and also Anchor Paper in St. Paul. The store in Plymouth closed yesterday they said, but Burnsville is still open. I have the Paper Depot on my list and now have added WBL for a road trip as well as Smudges when I go to Edina and Bloomington tomorrow.

Thanks for all of the info-I REALLY appreciate it--Barb

I live in Coon Rapids, My favorite stores are Anchor Paper in PLYMOUTH they have a full store now with just about everything imaginable. It is also where i get my 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 envelopes and regular size envelopes which are $10 for 250 I believe. I buy my reams of Classic Linen paper there $22 for a ream which I use for my cardstock base. Also Stardream cardstock which they have the full line by the lb its great.

Artsy Tartsy in Salvage which is by Chanhasson now has full line of Amuse Stamps I haven't been there but heard good things about them and its only about 10 mins south of plymouth.

I go to Archivers in Coon Rapids by me but once you been to one you been to them all as far as I am concerned there. There is also one in Roseville.

I go to Roseville often for work, and the Archivers on Fairview is located right next to a Dick Blick art shop. I was just there yesterday and bought a dozen Copics markers!! They had a great selection of Copics and PrismaColors.

I love Anchor, Scrapbooks Too, and The Scrapbook Shop. I like Archivers as well. I prefer Archivers and Anchor over the other two because of the stamp collections. I am a sucker for stamps and love stores that have a lot.

Pretty in Ink had a lot of stuff and tons of stamps, I can remember. I haven't been there in a couple years though. They are in Blaine. Paper Source is cool, I've found some really unique stuff there but I almost never get over to Uptown.

I really miss Dr. Scrapbook/Caprice Paper, especially since it was literally minutes from my house. At least now I have to make a concerted effort to spend the $$. I find that since they closed I am not spending nearly the same amount of $. I'm also out of money though so that could have something to do with it! LOL.

I just hope these other LSS still around town will stay open!

thanks to all of you for your help and advice.

The Archivers in Woodbury has been the best store so far. They had about 25 spools of ribbon for 50 & 75% off, so that was 18 a yard for many of them. The one in the MOA only had maybe 8 rolls and they were only at 25% off.

Anchor Paper also was a hit as they too had some great ribbon prices and some kinds I had not seen before. I also stocked up on boxes of envies and am taking 4 home to Wis. for "orders". I went to the one in St. Paul as well as the one in Burnsville.

I went to the Scrapbook shop and Scrapbooks Too and also found some cute brads at both of them.

I think I am going to stay home today and see if I can get going on the swaps I brought along. I plan to go to Paper Depot next week when I am downtown Minneapolis and stop at the Paper Source on the way. A trip to White Bear Lake and Roseville might also happen. Maybe a trip to Smudges too.

Thanks again for helping me feed my habit--SHOPPING!! Have a great weekend, Barb

We must be neighbors because Dr. Scrapbook was minutes from my house, too. (Less than 10 by bike) Judy used to laugh because I used to go in for my "test run" stuff on Friday afternoon after work and come back for the big purchase on Saturday so I could stamp the rest of the weekend. It's really too bad they closed. I thought they had plenty of business whenever I was in there. I do wish they would have been open on Sundays, although I can certainly understand a small store wanting a day off every week!

I went to the two stores in White Bear Lake today and they were great!!!! Quite the selection of items and VERY nice people. I also went to Paper Depot and got a box of envies for half price--can't beat that. I also went to a Dick Blicks that is next to Archivers in Roseville--their Copic price is $5.49 and as a teacher I get another 10% off, so they were less than $5 each. So, I picked up four more colors today. They also said with getting this teacher card that sometimes the discount is 20%. Wohoo!!!

Thanks for all of your help ladies as I think I went to almost every store that was mentioned. I will be moving here in a year and can visit them all full time!!!!

Thanks and have a great rest of the week--Barb

Glad to hear that you had a fantastic time visiting all of the stamping/scrapbooking stores in the Twin Cities!! I was amazed at all of the stores here that I didn't know about so I have a few more to add to my list too. Have a safe trip back to Wisconsin.

Happy Stamping and Scrapping

Hey yeah we must be neighbors! Sorry I didn't see your post until now. I live north of where the store was. It was about 5 min at most by car... not sure about how long on a bike, probably more than 10 min for me! Hee hee

Anyone know of a LSS in the Maple Grove or northwest 'burbs of the cities? I am going to be out that way tomorrow and was hoping there might be something out there that I haven't been to before.

There is a store in Osseo called We're Stamping Mad. I think it's right on the border of Maple Grove, just off Hwy 81. I've been there a few times and think it's worth checking out. There's also an Archivers in Maple Grove. Have fun!!

Another vote for "We're Stampin Mad!"

They're having a "Too Much Stuff" sale Sept. 25, 26, 27.

The address is 308 5th St. SE in Osseo, 763-425-5080.

Maple Grove/Plymouth is sad anymore!

We're Stampin' Mad is nice, is is joined with Beadbury in Osseo.

Our Artsy Tartsy closed a year ago, suddenly.

For some reason the Anchor Paper in Plymouth closed as well. Which is really annoying because it was just getting a nice layout and the product selections were really good. They have let all of the employees go, so I don't think they are coming back.

Where is the Anchor paper store in St.Paul? I'm in WI just over the river from Stillwater and am in the TC area all the time and have been wondering about Anchor paper as I've heard so much about it. I need to stock up on envelopes and would love to check it out!
