Default Starter Kit Stamp Question

I am sure that this question has been asked several times, but I couldn't find the answers to it.

I am just waiting to meet with my Demo to go over my application and send it off... in the mean time I keep looking at the stamps selected for the starter kit. I am not sure if I want to keep those ones or choose alternative sets for a few of them. Which ones would you recommend I get?

Thanks for the help.

That's really a hard one to help someone else with, because it really depends a lot on your personal taste. If you're not crazy about the suggested starter kit sets, you should individually substitute other sets of equal or lesser value. It's hard to get customers excited about ordering stuff you don't really like, and in the same way, your enthusiasm will be contagious.

If you really don't know what to get, you should talk with your demo when you meet her to go over the paperwork. She's the most familiar with your personal style based on your past orders, and could make the best recommendations for you.

are you signing up to be a hobby demo or for business side of it?? I would keep any sets you like that come with Inspiration sheets because new stampers love getting those sheets and buying the stamp sets to go with them. Buy what you like and just hope they don't retire in June!!

One suggestion I have if you do decide to change some of the sets, is to keep to the same mix of type of set. In other words, SU tries to get you a variety of styles, 2-Step Stampin', open line art, etc. They also have a set that has a matching wheel. So, for instance, last year when I joined one choice was Fresh Flowers, and the matching wheel. When I changed that (to In Full Bloom) I chose a set that also had a matching wheel.

SU does put a lot of thought into their starter kits to give you a variety of items to allow you to demonstrate a variety of stamping techniques. So go ahead and choose different sets if there are some that you'd be more excited about. Just try to substitue with same-style sets....

Oh, and CONGRATS on signing up!

I would definatly get Heartfelt Thanks. I didn't get Loads of Love and I am kinda regretting it. I might get it if I am make Stamp and Start. I am $325 shy of that and 30 days to go.

Back to your question....get what you will enjoy working with. If are excited about the set it will benefit you in the long run. Take a look at what you currently own that is in the catalog. If you own a lot of stamps already maybe pick something that is a little out of your comfort zone. Your potential customers might be intersted in. Do you plan to scrap book? If yes, consider stamp sets that lend themselves to scrapbooking.

Good luck!
