Here's the cheating method... take regular staples and color them with Sharpies before using them!

I've seen them at Michaels, Walmart, and Target. For an on-line source, I'd just Google "colored staples".

Making Memories makes colored staples. Found online, or at most larger craft & scrapbook stores I may even have some left over from my online store. I will look in storage and get back to you if I do.

I got my staples at Target for 99 cents. They are located in the office supplies isle.
I have also colored regular staples with Stazon.

Right now, Walmart has them in the school supplies aisles.

Dittos on making them yourself!
I agree with Sandi - make them yourself using Sharpie markers (Adirondack pens work equally well and offer different colors). It takes about 2 seconds to color a inch worth of staples, so you can color the amount you want to use and if you need more, it takes no time at all to do.
I searched all over Walmart last week for these pre-colored buggers and they are all gone. That's when I resorted to making them myself. I'm using plain old silver staples that cost 99 cents for a box of 5000....that's a LOT of staples that can be custom colored for no extra expense and time wasted looking for the commercially done ones.
Our cards are custom made, why balk at coloring your own staples?

I'm with Sandi and Boss.
I just color regular stamples with my Sharpies and they look great!
Cheap cheap cheap.

May I ask a really stupid question, but excuse me I'm British . What are Sharpies? Are they what we would call felt tip pens, ie. the coloring pens that children would use or are they a specific type of pen?

Sharpies is the brand name of a permanent marker. They come in different colors.

You can also use Slick Writers- but the colors aren't as vibrant as the store bought ones.
btw, for those who don't know. Close To My Heart sells colored staples and a Pivotable Stapler that is very cool too.
