I'm going to be visiting my sister in Scranton next week, and last time I visited, I took her to AC Moore and Michael's, but of course they don't have everything.
Does anyone know of any stores in the greater Scranton area that would cater to stampers and scrappers??
I guess she's in driving distance to Wilkes-Barre, Honesdale, and even the Poconos, so please help me out!
Thanks!

Sorry hon I'm in York and don't know of any in that area.... too bad you weren't closer. I'd highly recommend Stamp-Ede here in York.... heck it's even worth driving a couple of hours.
As for glossy paper the only good glossy I've ever gotten in from SU.... very rarely do I find it at AC's or Mike's. No Kaleidacolor pads either but sponges you should be able to get at AC's. I never have a big problem shopping there, I have yet to leave there spending less that 50 bucks. LOL
I will ask some friends who know that area better and see if they are aware of any stamp stores there.
This general region just has the chain stores - but less than ten minutes from me is the crafter's Bermuda Triangle of JoAnn's, Michael's and A.C. Moore!
We did have a scrapping store open for about two years, but frankly their selection was lousy and way overpriced. I've heard there's a good store in Delaware, but that's just too far to drive.

Heirloom holds a big convention in Allentown in April. You might want to check their website to see if there were any local vendors at the Allentown show. I'm not from that area so I don't know of any stores.
One more thing - I don't know how long you're staying but there *IS* a convention in Pennsauken, NJ next Saturday and Sunday. The vendor list is pretty short, but Marcos Paper will be there. Might be worth the drive!
Ther is another store the other way from where you are going to be in Binghamton NY it is called ScrapConnection I have been ther a couple times more scrapbooking than stamping stuff. There allso is suppose to be a stamping store in Oxford NY but have not fully looked into that store there was a thread on hear about what stamps they have but have not done further reasearch on that.
I'll tell her about the stores. I don't think a convention will work tho, I'm going back because my dad is very ill (last stages of colon cancer), so won't want to just take off for a whole day. But I will tell her to keep an eye out for conventions near her, like that one in Allentown in the spring! She could plan for something like that.
Thanks again!

I'm in Allentown and there is one store here called Kinnon Keepsakes, not too big and they don't really carry too much ut its nice. Its more of a scrapbooking store than a stamp store. I agree, we are sorely lacking in the LSS market. If I want to shop a real life store I have to head to the Lancaster/York area. I tend to do my shopping online instead.
There is a stamp store in Tannersville, PA on Rt 611 called DePue's. (Considered the Pocono's). It is probably an hour plus from Scranton and is only open from 10 to 4. It has a different assortment of stamps than I usually see in Michael's and AC Moore, including some Thomas Kinkade, but not a huge assortment. I think it's a pretty small store overall. I'm not sure about paper, I don't remember seeing much, but I was mostly looking for stamps. If you are heading to the Poconos for any other reason though, it may be worth a stop.
Location: Oh that poor carrot! It's been fondue'd!

I was just going to recommend this store... I thought their selection was good, considering the complete lack of other stamp stores in NEPA and Upstate NY. It's not too far from the Crossings outlets as well. It didn't seem like a very long drive from Binghamton for a day trip....

There is also Alexandra's Scrapbook store in Olyphant PA on business route 6.... They used to be in Dickson City....
don't know if either of them carry stamps, but did a quick search and these came up...
Olyphant!!! We can check that EASY! It's not even stamps she needs to much, it's the odd stuff that Michael's and AC Moore won't carry.... We'll have to check it out. Thanks!
And I'm accumulating all this other info too. When I'm not there, she can take day trips if she wants.

There is a great place in the Poconos that is closing. They have all kinds of everything at GREAT discounts, if you're still interested. It's Depue's Stamp Emporium, State Route 611, Tannersville PA 18372. It's a pity to be losing them, but a great time to stock up!
