We are putting up a brand new mailbox this week and my dh purchased one that is plain metal.
I have these ideas in my head to stamp scenes on the door of the mailbox and also the side of it.
What type of ink should I use? Will an acrylic sealant work to preserve the artwork?
Any suggestions?

Stazon should work, but I still think I would "seal it" with something, I would think over time extreme weather may be kind of hard on it!
That's what I'm afraid of - we live in North Dakota, so cold and heat are both a factor.
I want to do it right the 1st time.

Thanks for the information! Will Stazon ink work as well?

StazOn fades in sunlight. I know this because several years ago my group made outdoor decor tiles and within 2 days, in our hot SoCal inland temps, one gals tile was almost back to its pre stamp condition; the image had faded so much. Now, in the house, out of direct sun, mine is fine.
So, I would take the advice of the other poster and get exterior craft paint and a good sealer.

Thanks. That info helps a lot.

Another idea is to get some primed canvas from an art supply store and magnet strips. Stamp and paint on the canvas and attach it to the metal box with the magnets. That way you can do different designs and change them out without any trouble. I used acrylic paints and then sealed with a spray sealer.

In my old neighborhood, the kids would probably STEAL them!
