Am I the only one that is frightened by the stamps of the kids with the huge heads? I have seen so many cards made with them and I must admit, people do a great job on coloring them and making cards but I just cannot get into them -- the frighten me. We all have our favorite things I guess. ;)
I couldn't say they frighten me but I don't care for them, like the ones with no mouths. But a lot of people seem pretty crazy about them. I'm picky about a lot of things though like snowmen, they have to be cute or I don't like them -- like the tall skinny snowmen, yuck.
I can see where the stamps would appeal to someone using Copics. The cartoon style drawings really lend themselves to Copic blending. But what do the buyers of these stamps do with all the cards they create? I couldn't see sending them to a single adult I know, and the grand kids are mostly teens who wouldn't care for that.
I think they're adorable! They're almost like caricature's and are super fun to color! I don't understand why people say these images "scare" them, but to each their own I send these cards to other crafty friends, and even some friends who aren't crafty. They think the images are cute, and it's the thought after all...
I have to admit that I am a fan of this type of image, and I love to color them Copic markers. One of the things I love about cardmaking is the wide variety of stamps and patterned papers available. There are just so many different products that there is something to please everyone...gotta love that! ;)
You're so right about stamping products being so versatile for everyone's likes/dislikes. Even techniques - some people love copics and some love pencils and some don't even like to color at all. That's what makes this hobby so great -it accommodates everyone. You know what's really funny? When I don't like an image and then someone sends me a card using that same image and I have one of those "Ah-ha" moments where I think "so that's what I could do with that....". LOL!! And I don't know about you guys, but does your taste change from time to time? Mine certainly does. For a while I liked real cartoonish type images and then I went to more "real" looking ones then I liked animals then went to more words than images....who knows what the next phase will be. LOL!!
The ones with no mouths don't bother me. BUT, that is only because I draw the mouths (and noses) onto them. I'd prefer if they came with smiles though. (not just mouths, but smiles)
I also don't like the ones with legs that get huge at the bottom. That's cool for a pants shape, not for an actual leg shape!!
