I have this "50 Things to Stamp" flyer and one of the ideas is to stamp on checks. Has anyone ever done this? I would be so embarassed if I tried this and the bank wouldn't take my check! So - who does this???
Well, I don't stamp on checks, but I work at a bank so I don't advise it. Unless you can do it without obstructing anything important on the check. Stamping it on the MICR line (all the numbers at the bottom) could interfere with magnectic ink a create a problem in processing. Stamping it anywhere where it could interfere with being able to read the numerical or written amount, the payee, the makers signature, or the date could also create problems.
But as I work at a bank I'd sure get a kick out of seeing a check that stamped on!
I stamp on almost all my checks... Never have any problems with them.. I print them on blank check paper (I have check writing software-VersaCheck) and then I just stamp them for the season or the occasion... (If it's a Birthday present - I stamp the check to match the card )... the border stamps work great - and the wheels.. Usually I stamp between the check amount and the magnetic lines so the stamping doesn't interfere with anything... But I've stamped a small background stamp image on most of the check (just avoided the signature line and the magnetic number line)....
I'm a TAC demo and I stamp on all my business checks. I do several at a time and then change the image the next time to something new. I stamp up by my name and address, then down by my sig line (think where someone would put an "x" for you to sign). I NEVER cover anything up and it's just simple stamping--no embossing or embellishments! LOL :-)

I use to stamp on my checks all the time. Never had a problem with it. Some of the printed checks I have seen have so much decoration on them, that I can't imagine a problem with stamping.
I have never seen anyone do that but I do order plain checks when I do get them.. maybe wil have to put a little stamp of some sort on them sometime!!!!
I stamp on my checks all of the time and everyone loves them! I prefer to use soft subtles ink or stamp off the darker color inks before I stamp on the check. My bank doesn't complain about them at all. Also, I was told that our ink does not interfere with the magenetic ink. If you wrote over the top of it, you could still read the magnetic ink because it is a whole different ball game. I love the way I can change the look of my checks by stamping.
Someone asked this question earlier. I posted a picture of one of my checks. Done this for years. Bank has never said a word. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
