Default Stampin Up Copyright

How are you guys handling getting the required copyright onto all your images? I am going to start doing some booths and workshops and worry about being in compliance but here is the rub....I do not want to permanently put copyright on my scrapbook pages that I display at workshops because they are a part of my personal library as well.

Why don't you add the copyright info. on a small rectangle and put it on your pages using removal adhesive... then when you want to put it back in your album to keep, you can easily remove the copyright stuff.

Isn't "copying" where the problem lies? I don't think you have to put a copyright on it if you are demonstrating something at a workshop--only if you are "electronically" copying something. I may be wrong--it is entirely possible--but that's how I understand it. Please let me know if I have it all backwards!!

This is straight from the stampin up website:

As a further allowance under our copyright regulations, demonstrators may place color copies of their projects as models on tables at stamp camps or similar situations, as long as the Images copyright Stampin' Up! 19902004 [or current year]" line is on the copies. However, customers may not keep these copies; you must collect them at the end of the stamp camp. To ensure that your customers are aware that the copies are not to be removed, you could type "Please do not remove this copyrighted material" on the piece, or verbally ask for the pieces to be passed forward or left on the tables to be gathered later. This allowance should help you in conducting your large customer events, while still protecting Stampin Up!s copyrights.

My interpretation says anytime I display Stampin up images as a demonstrator I need the copyright.

Note that the blurb from the website is talking about color "copies," as in photocopies, NOT your "original" scrapbook pages.

But this week, patstamps.com got hit with copyright violation notice from Stampin' Up! and she now has to replace a great many of the images in her galleries with ones bearing the copyright notice. Apparently, someone felt the need to call SU and "report" patstamps.

I would imagine the same would be true for the splitcoaststampers site. You might want to be prepared in case it happens here too -- perhaps require all new images being uploaded to already have the copyright info imbedded.

please note related posts elsewhere in the forums, but no, we won't be requiring this for the time being.
