Post Stampin on candles

i've seen some pictures in the galleries w/candles stamped. I'm trying to find something fun to do with my girls this weekend and I thought that looked kind of fun. Do you just use regular dye ink?

The ones I've done, I've used regular dye ink and on some I've colored with sharpies! Have fun! These are something I'm sure your girls will love to do!

I don't have a picture, but I stamped on tissue paper with regular ink, and colored in with markers. Then used wax paper and a heat gun to melt it onto the candle.

There's tutorials here on the stamped candles, I don't know how to add a link or I would. It's pretty easy, I even stamped with craft ink on the tissue paper (it's the only kind of ink pads I have) and it worked fine, too. What a great idea to do with your kids! Just make sure you do the heat gun part, because you really have to watch it closely.

I'm curious what happens when you burn it and you've got tissue paper embedded in there. Does it cause a fire? Or does it burn as a normal candle would. I know it's asthetically pretty but can you actually use it? Just curious.
Have someone tried stamping (and coloring) on wax paper and then heat setting it into the candle(just the wax part and not the paper)? Just curious, if that also works.....
