What do you do with those old clam shells? I have a ton of them from my TAC stamps and I think they are just too nice to just toss so I save them and the cling that comes with it (I use tack it over and over) but I don't know what to do with it, I just can't throw it away though. That is my weakness, I can't get rid of stuff. Any pictures or ideas, then i can add it to my altered total.

What I have done with some of my Clam shell plastic boxes is:

Cards I'm doing for swaps I place in the Medium sized ones.
Bobbin Ribbons.
Punched Cardstock.
Acrylic Blocks,
Ink spots work great in these.

Larger size ones: you could do the Marble background tech. with these.
Store Next years Christmas cards in them.

Dh uses them too for some of his screws, Wire ties, Maps for his snowmobile,
Nails, etc. Cause he can hang them up on his peg board.

If you're looking to get rid of the Cling foam I'd be interested in some of it.

I was just thinking back over the huge amount I spent last year on new stamps, Cuttlebug and all the things that go with it, Nestabilities dies, et cetera. I am giving myself a headache... LOL.
Anyway, I decided NOT to look back. If I tried to make up for all the stuff I bought last year, I would need to create hundreds of cards before I could spend another penny.
So I am going to concentrate on birthday cards for church members for awhile. Because I have so very much paper and ribbon, I should probably set my own limit at $1 for 1 card. And if I use lots of layers and lots of ribbon, my shelves wouldn't sag so much.

Sorry for the delayed response. I tried to post earlier but my computer was not being agreeable!

I store all kinds of little office things in the smaller boxes such as binder clips, paper clips, rubber bands, etc. I also store my gel pens in a larger one since they are supposed to be stored horizontally as well as my colored pencils, watercolor pencils, glitters, twinkling H2O's, ink spots, beads, and my ATG tape (I order by the dozen). They stack very nicely in my storage/craft cabinet.

I decorate the top with flat art (to keep the stacking capability) and I decorate the sides as well. I use clear sticker labels to say what it inside and I have it labeled on all four sides as well as the top. I've used some in my classroom as well and used paint pens to decorate those (I am a pro at drawing paws since we are cubs, everything has a paw on it!)

Red face Overspent already

I made 4 cards the other day all of them using stuff from my use it up box, but then I went and order some chipboard sheets, bazzill card and nice 12 x 12 papers so I can make some of the drop spine boxes for mother's day presents. so I'm already over budget!! (Our mother's day is in March over here so I'm not too early!)

I did sort out lots of my stash and gave a huge bag of things I don't use or want to a friend yesterday, but that doesn't count as using it up, but at least I got rid of some of it!

Now I need to get making some more cards to make up for the money I spent!! No more spending til I've caught up though!

Good job!!! I need to finish up some cards for a swap (another 28 cards to go) and then get to work on my Valentine's creations for my girlfriends. I saw this cute takeout box filled with goodies (Paper Crafts mag) that I am going to make for my buddies! That would be 12 more cards, 12 altereds, and some nuggets. How much do you ladies think nuggets would count for?...if anything?

How many address labels does it take to cover a standard (5.5 x 4.25) card area? Maybe that many labels/nuggets would count as a card?

You guys are now givingme so much more to try and calculate so I can really judge how much I can spend, not that that is a bad thing, I just never really knew how much I did in relation to how much I bought. This year will be thee true test.

I have to go out tomorrow to get something for a swap, I don't know if I am going to count that though in my totals since I am not really using it. But I know I need to stamp in case I see some things I want for myself.

I was going to head to the LSS for a crop tomorrow then realized that would be toooo much of a temptation. So tomorrow night I will be cropping at home and earning some money!!

Good for you!!! I think that is going to be a lot of my temptation as well. I am taking a class on Thursday and my LSS always includes everything in the price but they just got in a truckload and that is going to be so hard to resist.

I guess I am a little late, but I want to get in on this as well. I really need to get back to stamping, instead of just collecting... lol
I'm going to change the amounts to fit my budget- off to change my signature.

Maybe this will help curb my spending. Great idea. For those of you in the WRAK group you'll be seeing a long list of wishes from me just so I can keep myself in check (not counting sell-a-bration of course-I can't turn down anything free) LOL

Good idea...it takes about 8 to cover a standard card area, so every 8 nuggets would count as a card! Thanks for the help!!!

happy Friday everyone! It's the last official day of my vacation!

Whooo Hooo! A weekend to scrap - that's what I tell myself but Christmas is still up and my little tike needs to go outside to play (lots) today. I always feel guilty if I don't spend tons of time with him when I'm off work and he heads back to the babysitter on Monday since it's back to work for me!
I do plan to catch up on some half finished pages though! I hope to post an album's worth later!

Smile Slowly catching up with my overspend

I made 6 cards yesterday and so far today I've made 2 drop spine boxes. These use 4 8x8 chipboard sheets, 1 1/2 12x12 sheets of cardstock and 3 12x12 sheets of paper each so I think they could count for at least 3 cards each - what do you think? This would make an extra 12 cards done on top of my original 4 - 16 altogether now WOOT!!!!

Gonna change my siggy now.

I mentioned this in another thread but I will say it again. This challenge is making me very conscious of what I am spending. I am having a hard time spending any money! I just feel so guilty! Maybe this is a good thing but let's see how I am feeling in February!

I went to my LSS today because they had a sidewalk sale. I was only going to get stuff for my Secret Sister, but then I bought for me as well. I think that to redeem myself I also signed up for a class and a craft rave (what they call a crop) and I know that there I will get a ton done, I always do. What I really need, no one has yet, so I guess I am safe.

I agree. I'm not sure that it is guilt I feel or rather more of an awareness of what I have and that I don't really need more. My downfall is DP and bling! Everywhere I go, I see bling that I can add to cards! And unfortunately, I have a bigger stack of DP than I have of cardstock! It amazes me that I can accumulate so much. This challenge is making me more aware of what I use as well.

I am also trying to build my gallery. I started one about a year ago and never added to it. This weekend, I added some of my creations and felt a sense of accomplishment.

I'm going to have to start prioritizing stamping more. I have too, too much to do. I did go to a crop Saturday (first ever! fun!). I have not made a scrapbook page before, so it was sloooow! I made good progress on a OSW, but I didn't finish ANYTHING! I do have so much that's close to done, that when I get to it, I will see a big jump in the productivity column. And that's badly needed--see signature.

I'm with you Pammers, i think that if I took pictures and posted all that I have done since coming to SCS I would feel more accomplished and maybe even more motivated to get more done and off my plate. Mu mom is a Deacon in her church and she needs about 100 Easter cards for her Parrish and I somehow got roped into doing it, so maybe that will nudge me in the right direction. I just feel bad beacuse I don't even own any Easter stamps and I have to go buy somethign so that I can even begin creating. I better get started. I did do a bunch of Christmas cards, I jut need to post them. The pictures are awful though.

Easter is a long way off. Maybe if you make a lot of stuff this week, you'll be in a better spot to accomplish that task, even buying new stamps for it.

I just got back from Target. Had seen mailbox posts and remarked how cute they are when altered. Had not seen the mailboxes in person, and I did not realize how tiny and cute they are! Well, I bought 5 for valentines and 8 for Christmas gifts. Now I need some valentine paper! I must get busy; you can see from my signature that I have been inactive.

This is great, I am going to work on this. I have to earn my SU demo kit.
