OK, count me in...I think. I will have to remember to update my signature line to reflect my work. That might be the hardest part!

What a great idea! I really need to use up some of my stash, too. So much patterned paper!

I am friends with the lady that owns my LSS, and she wants me to start selling cards at her store...so maybe I should start making some up for that to make some more dough for new goodies out of the SU catty.

I'm in on this. I want your encouragement (and I need the accountability) to spend within my established limits. I am going to have to adjust the 15 cards for 20 dollars spending limit, though. I'm fairly new at stamping, and I just don't have the stuff I need. I'm also seriously considering the hobby-demo route, so I'm going to set my spending plan at 40 cards per month and $100. I think that will keep my busy stamping and will make me think carefully and prioritize my spending.

Oh, so glad I'm not the only one who is going to need to spend $100 a month. LOL We'll just have to keep each other on the right track.

Me too! Thanks for posting, now at least I know I am not alone!!! This sounds like a great challenge, I need lots of support to keep me on track. BTW, I received a $40 gift certificate for Christmas, that doesn't count, right!!!

My theory is gift cards didn't come out of my pocket - so they don't go into my budget either! Its free to wend its way wherever I want it to go, no questions asked.

This idea is already working to help me! I was proud of myself for making 6 cards, on Christmas Day, no less. Then I went to Hobby Lobby this morning, and look at my signature to see what happened! The good news is, if not for this thread, I wouldn't have even noticed the disparity.

Any gift cards you receive throughout the year (you can't buy them for yourself, lol) do not count toward your total. They're a gift, just as if somebody bought you something specific.

Leslie - at least you know what's going on with your total! I'm not starting mine until January 1st - or at least this weekend, which is close enough, so that I can keep track (hopefully) all year.

OMG this is perfect for me. I was just figuring out my new SU! catty order last night and feeling a little guilty on my 500 dollar list of goodies that I don't seem to use. Guess I will have to get to work if I want to place that order huh?

Thumbs up Can't wait to get started!

Just found out that my office is closing at 3:00 PM tomorrow...so I will be home by 4:00 PM...and do not have to be back at work until Wednesday morning...

Here's my plan:

Friday - 4 PM to 8 PM - straighten out my 'craft corner' in the basement - by that time DH will be home from work and want dinner

Saturday - all day/night - my family Christmas - we always get together the first Saturday after Christmas for our get together - my immediate family now numbers 35!!!!

Sunday - make cards inbetween laundry, shopping (DH needs a new IPOD and I need a new printer - so that is what we are getting each for Christmas), then making dinner

Monday - DH will be at work all day!!!!! The house is still clean!!!!!! The laundry will be done!!!!! I am going to throw something in the crockpot and spend the day making cards...

Tuesday - make cards!!!!!!

I am a hobby demo (since November 1)...have to make my minimum by March..

I'll let you know next Wednesday if I was able to stay on schedule!

I need to do this as well. My spending is out of control and my usage is minimal - a double wammy!! My only problem is the Stamping Convention on Jan 12th...... I'd need to do non stop crafting between now and then! I must be strong, I must be strong, I must be strong.....

I might as well join in in this cahllenge too! Lord knows I need help curbing my spending. Someone suggested I go no buy, but that lasted oh about 2 days and then I got a Joann's coupon in the mail and all my good intentions went out the window.

LOL! A NO BUY POLICY!!! Are they nuts! I can't go no buy but I figured that if I use it, I can justify with a clean conscience the spending.

I have tried this in my mind before, but never on paper where I really keep track. Obviously, I did not see this yesterday or today before I spent ... too much. OK for January 1. I am trying to get the blog up and running and gallery with actual cards to view. This is my incentive...
GREAT IDEA! Now what about the 20 pounds I have to lose????

I am so in. I need something to make me use what I have and not continue to collect stuff for the sake of collecting. I made 100 cards as gifts for Christmas and 100 Christmas cards for me to send and I didn't even have to buy adhesive. The sad part is you can't tell that I have used anything. I did just buy a cuttlebug with a gift certificate I got for Christmas. I am going to HL tomorrow so we'll see how it goes.

All this to say, count me in. Now to figure out how to change my sig to reflect the challenge...

I think that I'm going to allot myself a set amount of money to spend based upon exercise as well. Perhaps in addition to $20 for 15 cards I make I'll allot myself $1 for each 15 minutes I exercise. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hmmmm...I'm intrigued by that exercise idea. But I play volleyball four nights a week. I'd go broke. Thought it would take off some weight, but it hasn't. Maybe I'll reward myself for a day where I don't break the diet.

I'm starting my STS today since I've already closed out 2007 but am getting the urge to create.

LOL! I don't have a DH so for me, the money is my own. I just need a system to help me be more accountable with the spending and using. Right now, it is out of whack...I am spending, just not really using. I have some stamp sets that have NEVER seen ink! During my move and setting up my craft space, I realized I have a ton of *stuff* and need to use more of it or get rid of it!

Ok so do we set our own goals with money and cards/scrapped pages? I will be in a stamp club and I switched to the scrapbook club would those pages count? how about pages that I got in swaps, but never used?

I do want to do this I will come back later to change my siggy, Right now I have to finish cleaning..... Ohhh I think I may add time getting straightened up = more time to play tooo along with the challenge to complete x # of pages.
Hmmmm going to go clean my bedroom (stamp room is already done!!!) and think about this while I fold and put away laundry!

I didn't even think about ATC's since I don't make those. If there's anything else I missed, just give it a value based on what you think it's worth!

As for swaps and that sort of thing, I could the pages I make for them...but not the pages I receive obviously since nothing came out of my stash for them.

I'm just ITCHING to get home and start earning some dough.
