I am in need of some help. We just moved into a new place, and I have a very large new craft room. The only downside is that there are no windows. I'm not sure what color to paint it. I thought a bright color would bring some light, but I don't want it to throw funny colors when I'm working. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do? I want to paint before I unpack everything, but I'm also anxious to have my supplies back.
I would say if you're room has no Window's. You might want to paint it something Bright and cheery.
My Stamp room has Glass Window Block with little window that open And I will be painting mine Sunny Yellow. Which is Paint that I have left over from my Kitchen.

I am working on my stamp room and have painted mine a cross between Old Olive and Certainly Celery. I would suggest getting an Ott Lite so you can see the true colors when working in there.

mine is super dark red. It DOES have a huge window and it's still dark. It's an office/stamp room thing. I can deal but I highly recomend AGAINST dark red. Although I will admit it is beautiful.

Oh and this may be wrong totally, but consider NOT doing glossy paint. I would think with artificial light you'd get more bouncing on glossy, putting a colored cast on your room. Ya know? So I'd so either really soft colors or a matte or eggshell finish.
I think anything happy colored would be good.
cept dark red.

My room is a light green (a muted version of Cuttlebug green  ), and I've had no problems. I recommend using an Ott Light, though, to ensure true colors when working on a project.
When I needed to choose a paint color for my stamping room, I first found a rug with a floral print then chose a color from that. My room may be messy but it is very put together and pretty!

I painted mine So Saffron (color matched perfectly at the paint store), and loved it so much, when we moved I painted my new craft room the same color!! It is such a pretty, soft 'yellow', and I don't even like yellow that much!!! It is very cheery, though!
My best advice would be to pick a 'soft' color. (Think soft subtles) I think a 'bright' color with artificial light would be too stark and artificial looking. You can always get a sample and test it on the wall (or a piece of poster board hung up on the wall) to see if you like it or not.
Good luck!!
I just painted my craft room which is in the basement and has an itty bitty window. The color is from Behr called Prelude which looks to me like SU's Bordering Blue. This color is so RELAXING which is what I love to do in my craft room.

Mine is done in kind of a groovy guava. It's a basement room without a window too so I wanted something light -- and it had to match the next door family room which is kind of so saffron and carpet which is almost artichoke. I thought this would work well but I'm just not loving it. For some reason I "feel" that it gives everything I'm working on a pinkish tinge.
I'm thinking of redoing it in the fall in light blue like soft sky.
