Do any of you take your catty to be spiral bound? I would love to be able to open it flat and I know I've heard some talk about having theirs spiral bound. Do you do it yourself or is there some place I could take mine to have it done? Does it take long? Can I wait while its done? I'm intrigued....
They cut the bound edge off, then punch the holes & insert the coil. I didn't have to do anything other than hand the person the book & choose which type of coil I wanted.

Many years ago I took a catalog to a local printer and they put plastic binding on it and charged me either $4 or $5. I still have that catalog. it is nicer to lay it flat.. I used to lay in bed and look through my catalog.

I didn't do last year, but did for several of the previous years. Went to OfficeMax and they did while I waited. It was well worth the few $$ it cost to do it.
I've had both Staples and Office Max do my SU catalogs. I've even had the front and back cover laminated at the same time. Some years I carried 10-15 catalogs in to have the spiral binding done (our entire monthly stamping group's catalogs!).
Now I do my own with my Bind-it-All. I just use a craft blade/exacto knife to trim off the original binding.
I just had mine spiral bound at Office Max. I thought about laminating the front cover, but insteadd got a thick, clear vinyl page to put before/after the front/last pages and added some clear pocket vinyl pages added in as well. Was only $9 and it took about 20 minutes total in the store. Well worth the time and money.

My demo used to do this for us. The one catalog I got that was bound started to "unwind" and it ended up being off the bottom portion of the spiral by about two inches. Anyone else ever have that happen?

I take the binding off with my utility knive (keep your fingers well away from the blade!) then punch the pages (a couple at a time) with my 3 ring hole punch then put it in my binder. When I get a new catty I just put a couple of twist ties through the holes ..remove the catty and use the binder for my new one. We don't live close enough to Staples to make it worth the trip. This way was the easiest one for me.
