Default Spellbinders Embossing Pad

Does anyone know if Michaels or JoAnn Fabrics carries the equivalent of the Spellbinders embossing pad? I hate to order online and pay shipping when I can drive 10 miles for something.

Thank you.

I cut up a mousepad...at Walmart for $5, or laying in a drawer somewhere??

I just found them on the evil auction site for a good price with free shipping I've never seen them at M's or J's. What about HL? Don't they carry the nesties?

I just bought a 2 pack of the tan embossing mats at HL for 8.99 on Friday (used my 40% off coupon).

I use a rubber gasket from Loews. It should be in the plumming section. I think it is about 6" x 6". If I remember right it was less than a dollar. HTH

cmaibauer.....AC Moore, Michaels nor JoAnns carries the tan embossing mat you're talking about.

But you can use the rubber mat included in the Sizzix Texture Starter kit (you have to get the Starter kit, not just the texture plates). It runs about $14.99 but does include texture plates, the rubber mat and hard plastic mat that can be used for embossing the Nestabilities.

It's what I use. I don't feel a mouse pad is the right kind of rubber for the job (just my opinion). Don't really want to try the hardware piece either.

Not sure if JoAnns carries it, but AC Moore and Michaels does (if in stock).

I like to save money when I can (and I don't have any of the bigger craft stores nearby). I have been using the same thing for embossing (using the cuttlebug)...It is located in the plumbing section. It is red rubber that is about 6x6 in size - comes in a 2 pack.

This is the recipe I use:

- Plate A
- Plate B
- Nestie smooth side down
- 2-3 pieces of cardstock (I usually use 3 pcs and tape underneath the rubber sheet so it doesn't move around)
- red rubber sheet
- Plate B

I run it through back and forth a couple of times to get a good impression on the cardstock. I get a great impression every time.

Happy Embossing!

Default Lowes

I got mine at Lowes. Plumbers gasket. It is approx. 6 x 6 and is red or orange, whichever you want to call it. Some lowes have them in pks of 2.
My lowes, they are just individual lying in a box of a bunch of them. Works like a charm. Approx. one buck or any hardware store.

Have fun! grannypat

I got a pack of 2 at Home Depot, called plumber's gasket. It was $3.99, and I cut the one to fit. Worked great!

If you have the sissiz crease pad that will work too. Wish I knew about the plumbers gasket before I got that.

thanks everybody for all this great info!! You can now probably guess where I'm stopping on my way home....Lowe's! Is this plumbers gasket a sheet of rubber? I'm "used to" gaskets being small round rings I guess. Thanks!!

The local Jo-ann's carries it here in the Pacific Northwest area. Seen them at every one I have been in around here--I have a tendency to lose or destroy them. :p

Plumbers gasket I picked up is gray and in a sheet. Very inexpensive. Sometimes it is called shower pan liner too.
blessings.

My local Micheals just started carrying Spellbinders and they did have the embossing pad. Joanns also carries it and they are caged up so you have to ask for it.
