I promised the gals in Marlenes Stocking Stuffer Swap the how tos.
It's long so here we go!
Home Spa Day Kit Created by Kim Bolzenthal S1itcher46 - SCS
Wheel Stars and Swirls Jumbo Wheel (or wheel of your choice) on 1 side of a sheet of Bliss Blue (or color of your choice) and both sides of 1 sheet of White.
What I did for people in the swap was I sent them a 2 sided layout for these three pages. They could then run their cardstock through a copier doing a 2 sided copy. (Feed one sheet at a time from end feeder. I killed the copier at work and got reprimanded for doing too many sheets of CS from the paper holding bin. I was making them for the office staff so I wasnt caught doing private copies! Whew! Not that I do that.)
You can do the copying on your printer. These instructions are for a top loading printer, you will have to adjust them for a side loading printer. You should probably try this on typing paper first to make sure it will work for you.
Whatever is your best wheeled side of your white CS sheet, place that facing you in the printer and print page 1. Starts out Pamper your hands. . . .
My printer puts up a message about the margins are too close to the edge. I print it anyway and have no problems. This was the only way I could get the layout right.
For page 2 - Other treats for the soul . . . . Turn your paper so the words Pamper Your hands . . . are at the top of the sheet, facing you, as it stand in the printer. Print page 2.
For page 3 Treat yourself to an in home spa day . . . - Pick your paper up flip it over and set in the printer. Pamper your hands should be on the back side of your paper at the top edge.
Cut white cardstock 5 1/8 x 9 3/4. See pattern. Align words so they are correctly placed on cardstock.
Score at 3 1/4 and 61/2 from top edge. Cut bottom flap at angle. Fold on scored lines.
Attach items with 2 sided tape. See photos for placement.
Bath Salts Cover 2 3/4 x 5 1/4. Wheel design on one side. Fold over top. Staple bag into cardstock.
Use mini glue dots to attach emery board and to hold recipe pocket on back cover shut. Tuck the recipes into the back pocket. Add chocolate bar. Fold into three sections. The words Treat yourself to an in home spa day should be on the front.
Blue Slider Cover Copy text to cardstock. Use copier or printer. Worded Light some candles . . . This will make two sleeves.
Score at 2 7/8 - 31/4 - 63/4 - and 71/8.
Cut CS sheet in half. 51/2 x 81/2
Punch holes for candles in front section by words, using the anywhere punch from the Crafters Kit. See photo. Tie 2 birthday candles to front with organdy ribbon. Fold on score lines. Seal overlap with 2 sided Tacky Tape.
Slide insert into cover slider. Optional. Tie a ribbon around the whole gift to keep it together. I used clear envelopes for my kits.
The little pink square showing by the recipes is a sample of Shania Twains new perfume. I cut it down from what I got as a handout at the drugstore.
The recipes were a last minute addition. I printed them on vellum.
Spread the sheets out to dry thoroughly as they print. The vellum can smear.
Doing a 2 column format helped for cutting them out.
Cut to approx. 2 3/4 x 5 1/4 size.
CHOCOLATE FACIAL MASK
This decadent mask is actually an excellent moisturizer -- it leaves your skin baby soft. Recommended for normal skin.
1/3 cup cocoa
3 tbsp. heavy cream
2 tsp. cottage cheese
 cup honey
3 tsp. oatmeal powder
Mix all ingredients together and smooth onto face. Relax for ten 10 minutes, then wash off with warm water.
OH, MY ACHING FEET
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tsp. of Aloe Vera
1 teaspoon wheat germ oil
20 drops of peppermint Essential Oil
20 drops of eucalyptus Essential Oil
Mix together and massage feet gently with this soothing ointment, or, add to a basin of very warm water, and soak. Finish by lightly dusting the feet in corn starch.
WATERMELON TONER
2 Tablespoons fresh watermelon juice
1 Tablespoon vodka
2 Tablespoons witch hazel
2 Tablespoons distilled water
Strain the watermelon juice to get rid of seeds and fruit pieces. Combine all ingredients in small bowl and stir well. Pour into clean containers with tight-fitting lids. To use: pour a small amount on a clean cotton pad and apply to face. Store in fridge between uses to retain freshness.

2-3 T massage oil
Mix all ingredients together. Take a hot shower to moisten your skin and open your pores. Using wide, circular motions, rub the coffee defoliant onto your skin with strong, even pressure. Shower off, pat skin dry, and apply a thin layer of body lotion.
Chamomile Milk Bath
A skin softening treat for dry weather skin.
4 cups powdered milk
1 cup boiling water
1/2 cup dried chamomile or 5 chamomile tea bags
Steep chamomile in water for 20 minutes Strain liquid. Mix liquid with powdered milk and add to running bath water.
APPLE SKIN TONER
Intended for slightly oily skins, we're told by our skincare team that Apple Toner is an excellent substitute for rubbing alcohol (a real no-no, as it actually stimulates the oil glands to produce more oil).
Combine 2/3 cup witch hazel,
1/3 cup of apple cider vinegar,
several drops of Lavender Essential Oil (or essential oil of your choice).
Mix, and add to clean bottle. Shake well before using, then dampen a cotton ball or pad saturated with your toner, and swab over face. Witch hazel is a gentle astringent, apple cider vinegar will help restore your skin's natural ph balance, and lavender soothes sensitive skin.
CHOCOLATE BUBBLE BATH
1 cup of unscented bubble bath
1/3 cup of unsweetened soy milk
3 oz. of grated or powdered dark chocolate
Heat the soy milk and add in the grated or powdered chocolate. Stir well until melted and blended, but do not boil. Allow to cool. Mix well again just before adding to your bath.
OATMEAL BLUEBERRY MASK

1 cup oatmeal
1 cup blueberries
1 tablespoon honey
5-6 almonds, whole
Puree all ingredients in a blender until finely blended. Spread mixture over your face, and allow to set and dry (10-15 minutes). Rinse with warm water, and splash your skin with cool water or toner. This mask be may stored in your refrigerator for up to one week, covered tightly.
Spa Stickers paste Ups I printed these on address labels and trimmed to fit. You will need to size them to your labels.
Green Tea
Facial Blotting Papers
Bath Salts and loofah
I'm going to try and attach the pages with the words as word files. I'm not always successful with this. LOL
The pattern one won't work. I will have to rescan it and post it later. The scanner is not hooked up right now. sigh.
Okay this is all I can get it to do. If you see the picture it may help you understand how to cut. It is hard to read, but you need to enlarge it to 8.5 inches across the top to use it correctly as a pattern. I am not good at this uploading. I better practice more!
The items inside:
Candles - 2 white birthday candles - To set the mood. A very short mood, smallcandles. LOL
Gloves - these were free with a rebate at the drugstore. Friends were nice enough to help me out and let me send them the rebates. About $4 a box, for three pairs of gloves.
Emery Board - I had to trim the ends to make them fit. Buy short ones!
Green Tea Bath Salts I bagged up from a very large container.
Facial packet - This was facial blotting papers and a loofah circle facial sponge, folded to fit in the package.
Back pocket -
Recipes - listed above
Chocolate Bar
A sample of Shania Twain's new perfume - I cut the sample package down to just the perfume so it would fit.
I have read the instructions through, looked at the pictures, I suppose I could re-create the words but the instructions mention "see pattern"--am I missing something? I don't see a pattern anywhere.
AHH--when I posted my question, the page updated--I see your comment about the pattern, will wait with baited breath.......LOVE the idea, am going to make some for gifts!
Kim, that was SOOOOOO sweet of you to post this for everyone! Thank you for taking the time to do this.
I have to tell you, I made these for the girls in all four doctor's offices that I go to, and they loved it! I used salts and lotions, etc. from Lavender Love, the company I am a consultant for, and they were a huge hit!
Thanks for sharing this wonderful spa kit with us! Hugs, Marlene

I would not make a gob of this stuff in advance, it goes bad fast.
What goes bad fast?
I will post the pattern tommorrow. The scanner gets independent when it gets disconnected. My son will have to look at it when he gets home later. I posted what I got to scan. I will try for a better picture tomorrow.
Wow! Kim, I wasnt in any of your spa kit groups, but I wanted to thank you for all the work you went to to make them and to give us the instructions. I may have to make these up for my kids teachers. Thanks again!
Denise
All of the above, especially anything with dairy, or anything that normally would be refrigerated. Oils go rancid fast as well.
Thanks for the info. I hadn't tried all of the recipes but I used up what I did make. I also stored anything I made in the fridge. This might be a nice PS to put in a card with the spa kit if you do give some for a gift.
Whenever I give these items out for gifts, I make sure and let people know that they should use them fast or refridgerate them. I work in a spa environment and alot of of our product goes off fast and they are even make with preservatives that are supposed to allow the products a longer life span... but anything organic will go rancid just the nature of the beast.
