Something that looks like a pirate map? (template)

I am going to be making about 30+ cards for my bf's son's birthday party. I am using the ahoy matey su stamp set. I am trying to figure out the best paper color and inks as well as some sort of folded card (anyone have a template) so that it looks like an old worn out folded treasure map. Any ideas or suggestions and I would GREATLY appreciate any help you can offer. The boy is going to be 8. So nothing too "little kiddish" don't you know he is old now?!!?!? :P Thanks again!

Here's one I made for my ds' pirate party. Instructions are in the description. You can easily adapt it for your ds.

In my gallery is a treasure map I made to give to the Cub Scouts at our Halloween Bash - theme was Shipbuilders. I rolled these & tied them with hemp. You could fold instead. There was writing on the other side of the "map". The boys loved these!

This was made with Matey's Map Wheel - you didn't say if you had the wheel or not, but using images from Ahoy Matey! your could randomly stamp the ship, the treasure and the "x" marks the spot on cream colored cardstock then fill in with markers before you rip or cut the paper.

Nice! It's similar to mine - only cut (not torn), folded (not rolled) and you did find a way to use Ahoy Matey! I put this in my favorites. I just love these two sets.

When I made invitations to a Pirate Celebration I was holding for Girl Scouts, I just the paper from AC Moore that looked like parchment paper and rolled it up. You can also tear the edges and sponge with brown to make it look burnt.

you could stamp on a paper grocery bag (or craft paper), then crumple it and sponge a little extra brown color to give it depth and to enhance the distressed look. Or even the paper that is sent with a SU order would work too. Then maybe roll it into a scroll and tie with twine or ribbon.

I have also seen a distressing powder from Ranger Inc. that is called "old paper" If you are into embossing that might be an option.
