Someone replacing Cricut cartridge with wadded up paper?
My daughter just told me a few days ago that she heard that there has been a problem with the Cricut cartridge, Elegant Edges. She said that people who bought that cartridge [which was in a factory sealed container] were opening their cartridge and finding the box stuffed with paper and no cartridge! I asked her where they were buying these and she said Michael's. So now Michael's people are having them open their boxes at the store before they leave.
She said that apparently ProvoCraft is investigating because since the cartridges are in sealed packages it must be happening internally.
Has anyone else heard this story or is it an Urban Myth?
Maybe the display boxes got shipped instead of the the actual product

I don't know...I just thought that was so strange. I have no idea how many purchases were made and had this result. But, you have a very plausible explanation for how something like that could happen.
I hadn't heard of that, but we don't have a Micheal's nearby. Wonder if someone in the factory goofed, or if it was intentional. Sounds intentional if wadded paper was found inside. That's a real shame. I won't be buying any cricut carts in the near future, but if I was, I'd be wanting to check the box before I left the store
Wow...that would stink! My girls received a Disney DVD from their Aunt and Uncle at Christmas a few years ago...no DVD inside and the package was sealed! I think the thieves these days have figured out how to seal package wrapping...
I haven't heard about it on the Cricut MB. Definitely sounds like something internal at PC. That has happened to me before with another product, not craft related. Did you know that you can return cartridges at WalMart after they are opened? Some people are linking the cartridges to their Gypsy and then returning the linked cartridges for a full refund. The rare occasions I do buy a cartridge at WalMart I have the cashier let me look at it before I purchase.
Oh, what a disappointment for the little ones at Christmas. It's a shame they have to learn so early about deception.
Wow! I can't believe WalMart would let you return a Cricut cartridge after opening. Someone needs to inform the "powers that be" at WalMart headquarters.
That is terrible! The things people think of!
That is sad for the kids at Christmas! Those dvds are expensive. I bet the Aunt and Uncle were so dissapointed!
