Default simple box designs

My club is putting on our annual Gift and craft fair and we hold workshops all day. I want to get the kids involved as well. I thought making a box could be a good little project. If not a box some type of container. Has anyone got any ideas ?

Have you ever tried Lauren Meader's Timeless Templates (sold on Papertrey Ink's site)? She has all types of containers to make out of cardstock - you download the file for $5 and get a project booklet to boot! She and the PTI team have such great ideas. I have several and love them. I think the simpler ones that kids could assemble easily are "Captured Card Case", "Get a Handle on It", "Perfect Match Box" and "Stocking Stuffer" (which is a free one!). Other ideas would be decorating paint cans (but they can get pricey if you have to buy a bunch) or terra cotta pots. Have fun!

Making a box sounds like a great kids project.

zekenne....You could have the children make the basic Origami box. All you need is a square of paper/cardstock and the ability to fold. The lid is the same just a 1/4 inch smaller square. Very simple. Addicting to make once you get going.

I was going to say the same as the poster above me. Origami boxes - no cutting involved, and all sorts of paper is suitable. Old 12x12 paper that you're not going to use, for example, old calendars with large pictures, old maps... Any square paper that comes into this house, DH says *Oh, that would make a great box*. Lynn did a fancied-up one as a TLC challenge a while back, but you'll find the instructions for the origami part in this post - Forums at Splitcoaststampers. And the lid is, as the poster above said, just a fraction smaller. I have a lot of these in my craft room - I keep some unmounted sets in them, leaves, in one and so on. My experience on summer/Easter camps is that kids love folding to create things. And if you want, you can use plain paper and stamp to decorate, or decorate with punched/diecut flowers and leaves.

Default thank you so much

wow ladies, thank you for all your information. I can see I'm going to have a problem deciding what project to give the kids. Thank you once again and if you are in Brisbane on 11 October would love to see you at the Fair. Location is Carina Leagues Club
