Silly Sealife :(
I just can't look at my Silly Sealife set the same any more. I pulled it out to play with and was just heart broken and angry when I saw that Stingray. I know I know Steve wouldn't want us to feel this way

He will be missed by many of us (kids and kids at heart) that enjoyed his shows.

Stingrays are usually gentle, non-aggressive creatures....this was just a freakish accident. It's sad, but when you take risks....even calculated risks...there are bound to be unfortunate accidents.

I haven't bought that set yet, but that came to my mind too when I was thinking about Steve Irwin this morning. Plus the sting-ray in Finding Nemo.
I'm sure Steve wouldn't have blamed the sting-ray if he had lived...it was a total freak accident. The sting-ray's stinger is really more of a whip...it's not meant to penetrate, but to slash with. Steve was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Just yet another reminder that life is short. Be good to the ones you love, we never know how long we'll have them around. God Bless Terry and the kids.

Steve's death was a great tragedy and a huge loss. I really feel for his wife and kids.
In reading about the accident yesterday, I couldn;t help but wonder if it was the toxin from the stingray that killed him or if he somehow opened up a hole in his heart by pulling out the barb. If it's the latter, that would be an even bigger tragedy!
In any case, though, we shouldn't blame the stingray. It was just doing what it does naturally. It's not like it swam up to the shore looking for victims. And I know Steve and his family would feel the same way.

I agree, wild animals are just that, wild. The same thing should be remembered with cats and dogs although domesticated they are still animals. I at one time had two cats and my younger bit my husband while giving medicine to the older. Wrong place...wrong time. It is unfortunate and I am most sorry for his wife and children who will not even be allowed to grieve in private.
Now let me hop down off my soap box, phew!

While it's tragic, Steve would not want us to blame the stingray.

Our whole family was very saddened by this, it was a unfortunate ACCIDENT and there are risks all around us, we will miss his funny & educational shows. But will remember him in syndicated tv! We are praying for his family to have comfort and peace at this difficult time.

Not to take your comments lightly but just wondering if you want to sell your Silly Sealife to me. I've been looking for that set.
