Default Sharpie Markers... Acid Free???

I was wondering if anyone knew if the Sharpie markers are acid free?? I'm specifically asking about the fine point permanent markers and the ultra fine point permanent markers. On the packages where it lists things to use them on it mentions photos. But there's no where on the package it says they're acid free. I checked out their website, but couldn't find this info on there.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Sencie, I did the same thing when I bought my package of fine points. I was going to get the ultra fine points as well, thinking they'd be good for SB, buttry as I might could not find the "AF" symbol anywhere on the package. I just decided that since it wasn't on the package, they weren't considered to be AF....poop.

Hugs,
Betsy

Betsy,
Yes, it seems if they were Acid Free they'd say so. After all it would be a good selling point.
I did find an 800 #, so I'm going to call the co. and check.
I'll post whatever I find out.
Thanks!

I doubt it since they're not labeled as such....I sent a msg to their customer service...I'll let you know what they say.

Well, I just called the Sharpie 800 #.
They told me their sharpie autograph pens are acid free, but the fine point and ultra fine point that I got are NOT acid free. (I don't think they should say they can be used on photos if they're not acid free.)

Oh well, I mostly bought them to color on tiles. Has anyone used sharpies on tiles? Do they need to be heat set?

Me too. What do you want to bet they start wondering what is going on with all these people asking the same question.

It's funny, I've used Sharpies on photos for years. Wonder why I've not had a problem.

I used to use Sharpies on pictures too, and it doesn't seem like it did anything to them. When I called them I told the person I spoke with that they shouldn't list photos as something they can be used on if they're not acid free.

Oh well. I love the new Stampin' Up Journaling markers! I'm hoping they eventually come in all the 48 colors!
