I was thinking about it. I'm sure this was started by a major card company, but who needs them anyway! I'll probably send a card!

I never heard of this. Is there a website somewhere that talks about it. Just curious.
I couldn't find any history behind this day, but it is listed in a few calendars on greeting card sites. whatfriendsenjoy.com, 123greetings.com, greetingcards.com, etc.
Those sites are for eCards though so don't use them. Make a card - they are SO much better! lol ;)
I didn't know about this, but i send cards to my friends for no reason other that
1. they like my cards (which is great)
2. allows me to create even more
My work friends and i do a lunch once a month and i always make them a little gift and a card, they always look forward to my "latest creation" this month it was a accordian book with painted dominos as the cover and just a friendship stamp and sayings inthe book. and always wrapped in something cute. big hits, makes my friends very happy, I guess all in all it just lets them know i appreciate them.
I send cards on the birthdays and anniversaries of loved ones, as well as when people I care about are sick or grieving. I also send cards when someone comes to mind, and I think they might like a card.
I do not send cards because Hallmark or some other marketer says to.
