Default Sell me on the markers before I place my order!

Okay ladies, here's my shot to buy all 48 markers, now tell me why I should? Do they color on the actual stamp well? Can you color the whole stamp in and then "huff" on it to re-wet it?

Tell me just what all I need these for.... HELP!

They do color stamps well--especially ones that you would want different colors (example a flower with stem & pedals). It's so easy! The box is wonderful! I love that! And it's a great way to try out different color combos by scribbling together. I love mine!

If I'm feeling lazy and don't want to get out all my ink pads, I'll just grab my marker box and color away. It's really easy and really convenient. I know it's a lot of money to invest but it is truly worth it! I also use the markers to write notes on the inside of cards. After spending all the time and energy to create a card, it doesn't seem to do it justice to grab a ballpoint pen for the inside!

I had to buy the complete marker set after using my upline's markers. I recently received my markers. Looking at all the colors together is just wonderful. Color families (like Soft Subtles) that weren't my favorite now look great seeing all the colors together in the markers. I haven't really had a chance to use my markers yet except for a few small stamps. But I plan to use my markers to color in stamped images, coloring on polyshrink, etc. A MUST purchase especially if you can buy the whole set!

If you really love SU and stamping then the markers are a MUST! I absolutely love mine and use them all of the time.

If you have a chance to buy the whole set with the case, go for it! I have seen the case and wish I had one. I love my markers. My 8 year old loves them too, she can tell the lower quality ones from SU.
You can do so much with them...some one must have a list on this site but for example...
Smackin' Accetate, colouring images, watercolouring, inking stamps, filling in missed areas on images, the list can go on.

I'm going to disagree just a bit. If you have lots of money for purchases, then there is absolutely nothing wrong with getting the markers. But, there is always something I'd rather have. I have all the pads (or the spots) and most of the reinkers and the SU blender pens. The blender pens function as markers for the purpose of coloring in. Of course, only the markers allow you to actually color onto the stamp itself. Personally, they aren't worth the money to me, but it is such an individual decision.

If you have all the inks all the paper and all the stamps you want, then get the markers!!

Thanks to all for responding! Good tips from EVERY one!

But I still don't know. I don't know what "Smackin' Acetate" is and I did not know that they will stay on polyshrink...

more help please!

They won't stay on polyshrink.
Do a search to see the Smackin' Accetate samples. You colour on window sheets/accetate with your markers and spray water or rubbing alcohol on it, then smack your glossy cardstock on top and pull it off quickly. It gives you a really neat look, not quite marble.

I just bought a set from my demo in NY (she got the new set)... I LOVE them... I don't own ALL of the ink pads yet, but now have access to all 48 colors!!!

AND now I can journal in something other than black ink!!!

GET THEM!!! Especially if you're a demo. Your customers will love to use them too!!!

OK, do you GO anyplace to stamp or scrapbook? I go to crops and to friends' homes to stamp and this way I don't need to bring every pad I own (which is all of them). It has saved me time and space when packing up to go anywhere. Plus, I love being able to color an image and journal or write a message inside a card in the same color. Hope I was able to sway you

One thing I use them alot for is to scribble a little on a stamp set case and use my blender pen in the color. It bets trying to keep the lid on the ink wet. I use them for multicoloring my stamps, to take somewhere if I'm stamping instead of halling my pads everywere and I use them for writing of course. They are a great investment and I have never regretted buying them.

Compulsive Scrapbooker AND work part time at a scrapbook store AND have an AMAZING hubby that is very understanding when I go on retreats every 4 months or so and he packs up EVERYTHING in my truck when I go and unloads it when I get back (how do I talk him to going with me to load/unload while I'm there???.... hmmm... another post, another time)

So, the markers would come in handy for the journaling and they would all be together, and if I didn't want to take all my ink, I could take these instead....and I'll be ordering them on my first EVER hostess order, so they would be 30% off.....

Okay, I'm 95% convinced!

The other 5% is think of all the stamps I could get with that money!

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH!

If it would be 30% off and you would use them with everything else then go for it...30% off this big purchase is going to go further...I only have one set but I love them, as a demo you will use them also...if you are 95% sure then just give in...I don't think anyone is going to sway you one way or another with anything else that could be said, you have had one think about it a little bit more and the rest have been yes....You will use the markers long after you have gotten tired of the stamp set. Enjoy

I have to say... someone mentioned coloring in with the blender pens (which I love to do). I have found after pushing on my ink pads to get the ink into the top of the container to color with that now the pads themselves are all curvy instead of flat... very annoying! Because of this, I am *finally* ordering half of the markers this week!

I LOVE my markers! They're juicy and the tips - both the "brush" and fine tip are very easy to get exactly the thickness of line you'd like. I use my markers before I reach for an inkpad - gets more color on the stamp and I like the control I have of getting the ink exactly where I want it. To me, they're a must!

I got my markers through a "club." Each month for 4 months, four of us paid 1/4 of the cost of markers and the demo ordered a set. We each got one of the color groups. That way we didn't have to pay for the whole thing at once. If you can find 4 people to do that, it's easier on the pocketbook. By the end of the time, we all had a case, too.

Otherwise, I LOVE them! The best part is when I color a design, it matches the paper perfectly! The coloring on stamps is really fun, and yes, the huffing really works.

I also like having them when I address the envelope - it matches, too!

They are well worth it and seem to be very high quality.

I don't think you will be sorry you have them! I LOVE mine and use them all the time! My granddaughter told her mom she had to get the set of markers like Grammy has because no other markers will do! I have a future SU demo here! Too bad she is only 8!!!
I've taken the case to many parties and have sold several sets. Everyone that sees them wants them. I'm going to be doing a marker club as soon as I can find one more person!

Great choice! Enjoy them and congrats on your first hostess order!

hi,
i also got my set as a club 4 month thing. by the time i got my last set i was truly in love with them. i never muched cared for the bold brights family until as someone said earlier i saw them together in the case. i can just say that i truly enjoy mine and your making a good decision. i know someone who is looking for a couple more people for a 4 month marker club so if you'd rather do that then maybe you or anyone else reading this post could pm me. if not believe me you will not regret it.

I LOVE my markers! They are a must in my opinion (which is not everyone's opinion)! And here is why...

1. coloring, ok course, but did you know that you can color over an area twice and have a slightly darker shade of the same color! So your creamy carmel actually will color 2-3 shades of carmel!!! Very cool for shading, or highlights!!! I sell markers at my whopshops for that reason alone!
2. Multicolor images
3. Corrrecting a stamp mistake. If you miss part of an image/word when you stamp you can correct it by just using the marker! I always bring my marker set to workshops in case a stamper messes up an image...then presto! I fix the problem!
4. Smacking acetate!
5. Use with blender pens...scribble on acetate and just pick up the color! Much easier than opening up every ink pad you need.
6. Allows yo to own every ink color. There are several ink pads I do not own..but the marker is the perfect solution!
7. Very portable!
8. Journaling!
9. Thumping technique! Once you stamp a bold image in a lightink color, pounce a darker color ink marker on it! Cool effect!
10. Owning the marker set means you own ALL 48 colors!

I am sure there are even more reaons!

OK, I am addicted to markers! I actually own two sets! One for upstairs and one for downstairs!

A great purchase during Sell-a-Bration! Earn free stamp sets! And with your 30% off! WOW What a deal!!!

I've been a demo for awhile, and when the new markers first came out I didn't buy them all, but just different colors here & there. I never acquired the full set & after awhile of demoing they began to show some wear.

Finally just last year, I broke down & bought a WHOLE new set, box & all. I love those things. Now I have the colors I need instead of trying to improvise. When I use them for make-n-takes, my customers always agree that they are the best markers they've ever tried!

I would recommend. I honestly don't think it is a purchase you will regret!

Default markers

I hope you enjoy your markers. But I thought I would mention that the markers aren't the best choice for journaling in scrapbooks because they aren't waterproof and fade resistant. If even a drop of water touches your page, the ink will smear all over the place. I ordered all of the colors of the "journalers" for scrapbooking.

Default Like the Energizer Bunny!

I bought my markers in 1998 and not one has gone dry. I have used them a lot and they are as juicy as ever! They are the best markers I have ever used. I will say I do not let my children use them unless I am around and I keep them on their side.

When using my markers I choose to call it "coloring" to me, it is such a HUGE stress reliver to just sit and color my stamped images. I purposely pick projects to "color" when I feel stress and this helps me get out of that space in my stressed out mind.

I also love to color! I have all of the markers......bought a few here and a few there, then bought the families one at a time & finally had them all. I still don't have all the ink pads in the big size, so I find I use my markers to ink up my personalized stamp so it matches the card (bit anal about that ). I believe in letting the world know it ain't a hallmark card! My customers love them too, and I've sold a full set to my best customer. You will love yours!

I bought my set 3 years ago - with heavy use they are still going strong. My only regret is that I didn't buy them sooner! This purchase is a MUST! The quality is there. The color matching is there. The versatility is there. The dual tips and therefore double the value is there. The convenience is there - what more do you need?

The best way to buy them is the full set because they come in the great case! You can certainly buy them individually or in sets of 12 but, then you have a little more inconvenience by trying to find just the right one - ever experience this with your ink pads? OK, so now you know - buy them all at once!

If you want to do a little comparison shopping - look at M's or other craft stores - most good markers go for $3 or more. Then look at the reason you use SU products, is it for the quality, is it for the color matching? If you answered yes to either of these questions, your decision is already made!

Get them and get them now!

I wouldn't use them for journaling... I have every color of ZIG for that purpose. I honestly don't use any of my stamps or accessories in my scrapbooks. I keep the 2 completely seperate. I haven't ventured in to SU's scrapbooking kits and patterned papers yet.

I can't wait to get this set of markers now.... I use my WC pencils and blenders alot, so this will be something a little new.

Thanks all!
