I will be getting this stamp set on Saturday. I'm inclined to cut the large stamp into the separate sentiments. I was wondering if anyone has done this. Are you glad you did or do you wish you had kept it as one stamp.
I know I could ink up the separate words on the large stamp but I do not own any markers (nor do I plan on it). So....tell me what you would do (or have done). Thanks.

I absolutely LOVE this stamp set! I kept the sentiment stamp "as is" and just used markers to ink it up using different colors. Cutting it up into smaller sentiments is a good idea though, but I kinda like it the way it is.
I really like the big stamp as is too. If you don't have markers, you could just stamp the whole image in one color. Then pick a couple of words to highlight and stamp with another ink and color of card stock. Cut those words out and use on top. KWIM?
Personally I love it the way it is. Colored looks a little better, but I think it looks great both ways.
Do you have the watercolor crayons? You could color on the stamp and mist with water. I think that would be really pretty...actually I think I might go try it ;).
Do you not like the markers or just not want a whole set? Maybe you could just get red and green.
Or you could stamp the whole stamp on cardstock and just cut out the part you want.
I went and had a look at mine after writing my previous post. The words are mighty close together, I'd be afraid to cut an edge and then have a totally unusable word. Maybe you're already convinced, but my 2 cents just in case it helps.
Keep as is stamp in whatever color and then you could cut out a single sentiment if you wish
I almost always cut my stamps apart but I have to admit that I'm not cutting this one apart. I think they fit together too well and I doubt if I would actually use the sayings apart. Plus the samples with it together are fabo.. like this one by JanTink and this one by Lauraly
If you really just want one saying over another I would say "go for it" but otherwise, leave well enough alone on this one. Just my .02
I think you all have convinced me. The reason I don't want the markers is the cost and the fact that I don't think I'd use them much. Perhaps I'll just get my favourite green and red.
If there is anyone who has cut them up please let me know if that works.
Thanks again everyone.

Buy the markers!
You can use them anywhere you use stamp pads (almost) ... and for more stuff besides! They are a great investment!
I take mine with me when I go to a scrapbook crop, or to a friend's to stamp - that way I have all my colours with me, without hauling around ALL the ink pads.
My demonstrator had cut her set apart and mounted them on the thin side of dominos--I LOVED them!!. She put the stickers on the opposite side and I'll do the same when my set arrives. The dominoes line up like lil' soldiers in the original box too.
I am one who often cuts her stamps up, but I am getting this one soon and I am NOT going to cut it! It is so great the way it is!
The markers are absolutely terrific! I am not sorry I spent the money! Start saving now and get them in Feb or March (whenever sell-a-bration is this year) and get two free stamp sets with them, you won't regret that purchase! I have had mine 4 years and they are still working great, I use them way more often than I dreamed I would!

Well ladies,
I got my stamp set and, no, I didn't cut it up. I actually have ordered some markers as well. Your advise was very much appreciated.
Thanks so much.
