I would love to make cards for either troops or cancer patients (my dad died of cancer last year), but what is a stamp a stack? p.s. I'll be there on the 26th!

I am so excited about this! I'll definitely be there. I have a vehicle that will hold 5 other people if anyone wants to carpool from the Springs. Just send me an email, and we can work out the details. [email protected]

does that mean we can only have non-alcoholic beverages? Or just wine?

I work at Argonaut Wine & Liquor- so would be happy to bring some wine!

If she doesn't then I will. My DH will have just left for the Desert (around Feb 20th) and I am sure that Keri wouldn't mind sharing some of them for my guy's squad.
Also, let me know if there is anything else that I can do. What do we need to bring? Do we want to plan on ordering something in or going out? I can look into restaurants in the area too.
This should be fun....
If anyone needs childcare, let me know cuz I could arrange to have a couple of the teens from the church be there on site with the kids in the nursery. I don't know if this might be stopping some people from attending...they can't find childcare. Let me know...

If your planning on attending please PM me ASAP and also let me know if you would like to do a potluck or take a break and go eat somewhere.
I need to know by Feb. 1st if you will be attending for swaps and make and takes.
Any suggestions are welcome.
There is another post regarding this get together in Announcements.
Because this is in a church I don't believe aloholic beverages would be appropiate. But that's just my thoughts.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Everyone! I was wondering if we could do some of the techniqes shown here on the website. It would be fun to see some of these tutorials in real life. I have an easy, easy but really great looking technique using smoke. I would love to show that to all of you. Let me know what you think.

That sounds great, Linda! I think that's a great idea! I've always wanted to learn more about smoke techniques.

For everyone who is attending, would you be willing to pay a small amount, say $10-$15, for some make and takes, and other cards with techniques? I think it's quite a bargain, especially considering we get the hall for free! Please let us know when you RSVP to Julie. Thanks!! - J.

Okay, so I really won't be offended that my name wasn't on either list...both here and in Announcements!
Also, my pastor's wife wants to come too. She is a scrapbook person but hasn't stamped much. Her name is Regina Shull. So could you add us both to the list, please?!?!?!?!?!

Thanks,

A shoe box swap would be fun, also a card swap. I think that a fee with door prizes would be fine. Or everyone could bring an item and then combine that for door prizes.
Maybe have a couple of people demo some techniques too.

Will we be swapping card fronts, like at convention? If so, how many should we bring? I haven't been to convention or regionals so I don't know about swapping at these types of events. I'm really excited to meet everyone .

Yes, card fronts like at convention would be fine with me. As far as how many I'm not sure yet. I'm still waiting to see if anyone else RSVP to me. I"m thinking around fifty but I'll let you know for sure in a week or so.

OK not that I want to make this any harder but....I think that not everyone going are demos and have a use for card front swaps. I am a demo but my friend that is going is not, I think that although it will take more paper I would rather do full cards so that they can be useful to those that are not demos too. I know it would increase the paper usage but even on 50 cards it would take 1 full pack instead of half a pack that is only $2.50 difference. I think it would be worth it to just do full cards.of Just a thought that might make this a little more fun for everybody!!!!

I think I agree, Koren. I'm a demo, but I try to use most of my cards from swaps, etc. so I inevitably end up trying to find matching cardstock to make a backing on them. If this was convention, where most everyone is a demo, then I'd say card fronts are fine but when we'll have so many people who aren't demos, then I think we should do full cards as well. JMHO. - J.

I agree that whole cards is good and if you do not have time to make 50 just make what you can. That way you just take home however many cards you make.

This is just my two cents, but I think we should all make one extra card/card front (whatever we decide) for Julie. I think that this is taking a lot of work to organize and she is doing a great job. What do the rest of you think?

Are we going to stay strictly SU! products on swaps? Being a demo, that makes a difference to me.

Thanks!

Because this is an event for SCSers, which includes many who are not demos, my vote is to not be restricted to SU! products on swaps or other activities. - J.

I am a demo and am like you, I use card fronts for the ideas. Even when I do swaps with other groups and we do full cards I never use or mail out the other swapper's cards. I would prefer to swap card fronts but will go along with what everyone else wants to do.

OK here is my next idea...not that I dont want to swap with evyone but if there are some that wants just fronts and some that wants cards could we should do 2 different types of swaps if we could get who wants to do what, because I would like to do fronts and so would my friend that lurks here that is coming with me and I know a few others have posted they do too, and then there are others who want to do fronts only. I dont want to miss out on anyones swaps but maybe this would be an alternative.....Just a thought

Robyn--
You mentioned having some teens to look after kiddos in the nursery. I haven't seen anyone post a reply to that, but I have a 3 mo old I am breast feeding, and it would definitely be more convenient for me to have her there. Is anyone else interested in having sitters?

As of right now I have 26 people that have responded.
This is very difficult to organize because everyone wants something different, but here is what I think the majority want.

Potluck: everyone bring a dish; those of you traveling a distance could bring something store bought or soda.

Swaps: whole cards, but using only SU products.

Entertainment: 4 demonstrations followed by 4 make and takes

Please email me directly if you are willing to help.
If anyone disagrees with my suggestions please feel free to jump right in. But there is no way we are going to please everyone, as much as we would like to.

Thank You
Julie Hunt

No haven't decided on a fee but I'm figuring around $10.00 and then we could ask everyone to help by bringing their own stamps, ink pads and anything else we are going to need.
I really need to get going on what demos and make and takes so I can see what supplies we are going to do.
Annette has offered to help with supplies and Robyn has offered to help with make and takes.
So far Linda and Connie are doing demonstrations. I need one more person.

Thank you
Julie
