Hi Ladies,
I am going to host my first all day scrapbooking event in May. This event will be from 10:00am until midnight. So there will be lots of time and lots of room for us to spread out.
If you were attending such an event what would you like to see during the day? Would you like to see some demonstrations, would you like to have mini contests throughout the day? What would make this day the most fun for you?
I agree... NO KIDS!!!! They would be a big distraction.
Contest would be fine... but a demo would not.
Snacks and have to have some kind of music.
Most of all HAVE FUN with it.
IE: first person to bring me a page having X on it gets a little something, some fibers, ribbon, just something small. Was at a weekend crop where they did this, was a blast. But walk around the room when you do this, keeps them on their toes!
Also, you could try BINGO. The squares have supplies listed in them instead of numbers. Everyone 'buys' their free square for a dollar. The money goes into a pot that is the prize for who ever wins that round of bingo. Did this at a CM crop, and was lots of fun.
many of them. The main feedback we've gotten on the eval at the end was LESS interruptions/more big chunks of time to work.
If you are preparing an agenda - put the new technique demo (if you're doing one) right before or after lunch - or do one before and then again after - the last thing most ladies want is to be interrupted a bunch.
Most ladies are simply looking to get caught up and if they come with friends they want to chat.
Thank You So Much for your ideas and thoughts. This is exactly what I needed to know. I'm not much of a scrapbooker so I was thinking 10 -12 hours was too much time for people to scrapbook without having demos. I should also add that I don't have children so I sometimes forget that others don't have the luxury of free uniterupted scrapbooking time!
Thanks Again,
Julie
