Scrap/Stamp Stores in Ft Myers FL Area?
I may be visiting the Ft Myers area this summer. While there, my hubby will be playing golf one day so I thought I would visit some scrap/stamp stores. I did an online search and came up with several in that area. But since I may have limited time, I would like to know which stores are the "don't miss" and which ones are the "don't bother". TIA

I know the owl and pussycat on Tamiami Trail They had a good selection. I haven't been there in 8 years so who knows if they are still there but it was a big nice store.

Thanks. That store's name did not come up in a search originally. I will add it to my list.

There was a thread awhile ago that I saved for future reference. Here is the link
I plan to visit in early April and hopefully I will have a chance to find these shops. I will try to remember to report back with the reviews.

Strawberry Fields in Cape Coral is another. Here's her blog:

There's another in Cape Coral, but it's primarily scrapbooking. I can't remember the name, but if you're interested, PM me and I'll look it up for you.
Wanda
PS. Sorry I'll be in NC this summer or I would escort you to the places.

I was the original poster of the other link and visited Ft Myers in Feb.
I found the product in The Owl and The Pussycat to be very nice and current, but the owners were quite distant and off-putting...not at all helpful.
Betty's is a HUGE store with tons of product, but most of it is pretty old. And, if you have allergies to mold, you won't want to spend much time in there...I had to use my asthma inhaler for the first time in years after I was in that store. Betty, though is an incredibly sweet woman.
The Rubber Wizard in Naples was the BEST imho. Fabulous mix of stamps and a wonderfully talented and helpful Sharon that works there. My friend and I were in there 5 hours, I think. Not a very big store, but they pack it pretty well.
As far as scrapbook stores, I found Dee's Scrapbook to be the most current and up to the minute store. A few others over in Cape Coral seemed to carry minimal and older product.
Just my 2 cents.

Crafty C boy do I agree with you about the owners of Owl and Pussycat. What is it? Soooooooooooo distant is right. However very up to date and artistic. I did purchase some things but had the urge to tell her to get off her high horse!
I was to Betty's too and truly agree. Probably will no go back there again.

Strawberry Fields
Hi Ladies!
A stampin' friend told me of the thread so I thought I would introduce myself. I'm Pam from Strawberry Fields Scrapbook Shop. My shop is located in Cape Coral on 47th st. I'm a bit off the beaten path so it might be tricky to find the first time. Please check out the blog and you'll find some pictures of the shop and my friend, Terri, has a link to her blog on my site. She wrote a wonderful review of the shop the first time she came in. You'll find that I carry all the latest releases and a bit of those hard to find items like Graphic 45 and Memory Box. Please stop by when you're in town and let me know you're from SCS...see you soon!

Great reveiws everyone. There seem to be a lot of stores in that area and I would love to visit all of them. But since I will have a limited amount of time, I wanted to make sure which ones were most worth the time.

I went into the Owl and the Pussycat last week. Very nice stuff! Many things that I have never seen before! The lady minding the store was pleasant enough. I did not get a hug, but I felt welcome. I like to shop without a lot of input from the clerks, so I was happy. Nice store! I will go back for sure. the url is www.oandpart.com

Just got back from my trip to the Fort Myers area. I wish I could have visited all the stores mentioned plus the ones I found through other searches, but due to time and distance restrictions, I was only able to get to 3. I thought I would share a review of each here in case anyone else is traveling there in the future.
My first stop was The Owl and Pussycat in Fort Myers. What a nicely set up store this was. Lots of artsy, vintage-y, collage-y type stamps and accessories. Not my usual style but I did find a couple stamps to buy.
The second store was Seashell Scrap and Stamp in Cape Coral (no current website that I could find). A very small store but packed full of fun stamps, paper and embellishments. The owner was super helpful and we had a nice chat. I bought lots of stuff here. Definitely worth a visit.
The third store was Scrapbooking Goodies also in Cape Coral. This was a very large store. It had tons of patterned paper. Although there were some stamps, this is definitely a store geared more for scrappers than stampers.
