I love my Martha Stewart because it has 1/8th measurements and comes in a smaller version for easy travel to a class.

Sadly, I believe the MS boards are discontinued. (I love mine, too, though.)

I own a Scor-Pal and Scor Buddy, Martha Stewart's in both the large and small, one from EK Success, and a mini Scor-It. The mini score-it works differently than the others, and I really only like it for scoring cards; not for decorative embossed lines. If I didn't own any of these, the one I would get is the Stampin Up score board, because it has the lines at 1/8", a stylus instead of a bone-folder type tool and I love that it has markers to keep track of where you want your score lines.

I love my Scor-Pal, but I wish that it had lines every 1/8 inch like the Martha Stewart/EK Success boards. To me, it seems like the lines on the Scor-Pal are deeper or smoother or something and the scoring tool is less likely to jump the groove.

I have also discovered that hands-down the BEST tool to use with whichever board you get is the scoring stylus that you can buy for a Cricut machine. I was surprised at how much smoother it seems to run along the cardstock, and if you use heavyweight card for your bases, you get a much better score. (If you're scoring patterned paper, though, you'll want to stick with the tool that comes with the board.)

I, on the other hand, absolutely love my Score-It precisely for decorative line scoring! Because you're scoring face up, you can see exactly where to stop and start if you want to score up to an image or sentiment. It's also infinitely variable - yes, you have to think about the measurement but you're not restricted to intervals that somebody else decided on

Yes, ScorPal - here's the other thread you began on the Tool/Product board where some of us posted about the ScorPal for you:

I've tried MS, Score Pal, and SU. I got rid of everything except the SU as it scores sharp and I love the little place markers.

I like that too. EK manufactures SU's scoreboard and there was litigation that they stole ScorPal's design and made small tweaks. So when I was looking for a bigger scoreboard a couple of years ago I decided to stick with the original (ScorPal). YMMV. : )

EK Success makes a small scoreboard like the MS one. They made the MS one but since it got discountinued, they have put out one under their label. It looks the same as the mini MS one except it is their, now signature, gray.

One complaint I have about it is the numbers across the top are a little harder to read than the MS one because of the gray color. I rubbed some chalk into the grooves to make them easier to read.

Yes, and acrylic paint works too - just cheap craft paint is fine. Rub on, rub off.(With apologies to Mr. Miyagi/The Karate Kid.)

I have the Score Buddy. I do mostly cards and so the small size is OK and fits the space I have to work. If the card I'm making is longer than the board, I just switch it around and finish the line or work from the other end. Biggest complaint is that the raised ruler is of the same color. Because I have a well lighted area, it is not a huge problem, but painted numbers and lines would be nice. This is the only board I have, so I can't speak to the others, but it is far better than using the scorer on my paper trimmer.

I have several but my favorite is the "We R Memory Keepers Score Trim & Score". I'm really bad about measuring and this one has the all the measurements. e.g. 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, etc.

Phillis, do you cut with it too? I was surprised that about 1/4 of reviewers on Amazon and elsewhere have mentioned issues with the blade. But it sure seems handy and compact for going to a class where both a trimmer and score board are required.

I also wonder about getting blades if discontinued. One website said it was discontinued, although it's readily available so maybe they were wrong.

I have the original one with the gray base instead of the white that apparently is sold now. I actually use the cutting board part of it more and have never had issues with the blade. The newer model looks the same but is different in color and has an area for an extra blade. p.s I just saw a video on Youtube for the white board one and it is dated 4 months ago so I'm sure someones sells it.

Right, like I mentioned, they're readily available - so figured the info from one was wrong. So you have a different one though. Quite a few people report that it - the newer one - has a blade that doesn't stay sharp or that rips the paper. American Crafts (that owns WRMK now) isn't difficult to deal with but I'd rather not have anything to deal with! lol

I love my Score-Pal - it just would be nice to have a combo when away.

Another vote for the Scor Pal with 1\8 th inch measurements. I also bought the slide in mat. I score then slide in the mat and burnish the score lines. It is great for cards and Mimi album pages.

BTW, Scor-Pal has a Black Friday sale - 20% off everything with the code BLKFDAY

(We have two threads going with the same question so I posted in both.)

I have the large Martha Stewart board. I do like it, plus SU used to sell an insert for their score board that had diagonal scores. It fits the Martha Stewart board also. I don't know it they still sell it but you might be able to find one on ebay.

I bought the WRMK score and trimmer... And took it back bc it would not score in the center if the board... Even when I had the latches secure. I was really bummed bc it seemed like a good thing. I have the original Scorpal... Wish I had more groves... But I will continue to make due!
