Default Scanners

I'm assuming that most people who post cards scan them in. I don't have a scanner but I'm looking for something that not only allows me to scan in my cards, but also allows me to scan in and manipulate photographs. Any suggestions? I'm not technical at all so I'd like to buy something that's easy to use but also versitle. Thanks for your suggestions

I have a canon EanoScan LiDE 30. It is about a year old. It is as thin as a laptop and is completely plug & play. It does not require a power cord (because it is powered through the usb) It does excellent scanning and was around $70ish when I bought it.

HTH!

I have a scanner/copier/printer/fax combo by Lexmark. (Lexmark X 5150) and I am NOT technically proficient, but I have been able to scan a card, and then use Microsft Picture It! to manipulate my scans. I have done this for phots as well as cards. The program you use for pics is what will allow you the most control with your oics. My programs can do black/whote, add text, shape the pic, etc. I am sur it can do much more that I know, i am just fooling around with it to do basic stuff.

We have had it for about 1 year and it has worked fine, but using it as a fax is tricky.

I just have an inexpensive Canon scanner and it came with photo cropping software. Very easy to use...load up the disc and plug in the scanner...hit the scan button and it's done!

I have an hp psc950 -printer, scanner, copier and fax all in one. Just this morning I was thinking it was a little too old for the job because my scans were coming out very blurry but then DH showed me today how to adjust my scanner settings. Now it works pretty good. I like the four things in one feature with this machine. :P
