I found 500 sheets of white cardstock for around $5.50 at Sam's. The quality is good, the sheets are smooth. Let's be real tho' ~ they ain't SU, but good for the price.
Wish we had a Sam's near us. We do have a BJ's and I do keep my eyes open (I missed the $13 Fiscars LARGE cutter last year that came with two refills!!!!). For that price my kids could have a ball with what they call "Mommy's good paper but not really since its not as good as her other stuff" LOL
I've gotten some of that paper from Sam's, and it is pretty darn good! Really! I got it for my girls to use, but I must admit I've used it some too. It's a heavier weight than SU US white and holds up well to blender pens, etc., that make SU US white pill. I don't use it for "official' use, but do play with it! And I use it when I do projects with the youth groups at my church.

I have purchased the similar paper from WalMart as well, they also have a stack of colored that I need to try next time I am in the store.

Is it the Georgia Pacific? I have that and use it when I'm using large volumes of white for journals or something. Never for workshops though...it isn't as nice as SU, but it does have its place!
I use it too. I actually prefer it for watercoloring. It's super durable. I don't use it for workshops, though I do use it to make large volumes of cards. It's nice to have inexpensive cardstock to play around with when you're learning a new technique, too.
I also use it - I am not a demo so I am not bound to using only SU...
I love being able to mess up a page and not worry about the fact that it is costing so much$.. I tend to put one on my workspace and when it is trashed I do not feel guilty about throwing it out. I also let my kids play with it and often use it for the white in my cards...

I got some cardstock from sams club a few years ago...BE WARNED....It fades...BAD... It wasnt Georgia Pacific, which I use the white from walmart ALL THE TIME...But the stuff from sams club, which i thought was an awesome deal, turned out to be a dud! Great for kids projects though!

So it's a bit sturdier than the US wht that I've been getting from SU lately. It can stand by itself better. I'm guessing SU US wht is maybe #69?? Not sure....

SU paper is 80 lb. I have compared Georgia Pacific from SAMs with SU and Georgia Pacific is not as white. You are right, they are both smooth. Unless they are side by side no one would probably guess, but I would not use Georgia in any SU card swaps or WS I don't think.
Just my opinion. I do use it for private cards, etc.
Another great Sam's find for Stamp Camps, etc. is the paper table covers. They have white ones that are lined on the back with plastic. They are very cheap, too-less than $5 for 6. Everyone loved them at our Camp, even better than the grid paper, b/c they were bigger. Just fyi!
