I had to share my tale of woe about the card that wouldn't die. It started simply because I saw a post about someone wanting more info about the Art Impressions front and back cards.
I haven't made one in a long time, so I thought this will be fun. I learning to use Copics and I got a few more yesterday, of course, I had to use them. Well, problem #1 - not enough colors - not a problem. Using my Marvy Brush Markers I colored spots of color on a tranparency along side spots of color from my Copics, dipped my paintbrush into a little alcohol and blended the colors. It's working great.
I stamped Sara with a fence, she's all colored in, has a great selectioin of plants, and a nice little walkway. But then when I got ready to stamp Sara back with the fence, we hit problem #2 - The fence has to be backward and I never have good luck using a revere stamp. Well okey dokey, we'll just make the back of Sara with out the fence and glue her to the front Sara and add some plants to the back of the cover. I cut out the back Sara, fliped over the front Sara and lo and behold, look at all the bleed through from the Copics!! Now I can't just glue it, I have to hide start over and rethink using the Copics:twisted:
Well since Sara was looking pretty good for my first try at any real blending with the Copics, I'm not going to start over. I decided to stamp the flowers on a transparency and then glue Sara to the front. Woo Hoo! we're on a roll!!!
All is going well until I try to glue Sara to the tranparency. The first glue I tried didn't work and then I remembered about Diamond Glaze. Well I got a little carried away with the amount, so now we have DG oozing out around the stand. Problem #3 - clean up. While trying to clean up the ooze, I got more DG in places where it wasn't, finger prints, smearing, smudging, oh my, the list of goobers goes.
While trying to repair the goobers, I got ink on the inside of the card (white cardstock). Well now I have to hide more goobers by stamping plants and flowers on the inside!
So to finish my sad saga, you should note that the walkway inside the card is going the wrong way - had to hide it with grass
The birds were added to hide a fingerprint
Fence kind of got lost during the repair process
The card is small than usual as triming was necessary to hide a DG sopt
No sentiment as there are flowers and grass in the way
And the biggest tragedy, poor Sara lost some toes in the trimming.
I should have tossed the card when it started going bad, but after 3 hours, 2 cups of coffee, and purple and green fingers, it's done. I think I need to take myself out to breakfast - maybe some pancakes will help:p
If you made it to the end of my story, Here is Sara - want to share your card that wouldn't die? I need some company ....
Totally cute card!! I would have never guessed how much trouble you had with it! I know I have had cards like that before........ It's all about the end result!
Thanks everyone, you're making me so much better and I'm glad you like the card. Oh and I forgot to look for the thread for the person that wanted to see a front and back! Off to find the post and thanks again for the support.
LOL! I had a card like that today, too! I named it, "what-not-to-do-when-making-a-card". Although, like yours, the end result was fine, mine wasn't worth the effort. I really like yours, btw!
Two things..send the card to a fellow stamper and include this sad tale of woe! I need to print this and keep it at my stamping spot. However, if I try to print this I will send it to never never land or ink spot will appear or only part will print or .....

I think it looks great. I've never made one of these, well, I've made cards that won't die before for sure, but not a front and back. I'll have to save these directions and see what I've to make one with. Or should I stay away? hehe!! Anyhow, I know you see all your flaws but nobody else will. I do know it's frustrating when you're putting in the time and you have to keep re-doing, etc. but it turned out gorgeous!
