Donna,

I'm starting a new thread on this sponge subject so we don't confuse this thread with something else. I'll put it under "techniques." Hope that's ok.

Yeah, we can only edit our posts in the swap forums and I believe we only have 5 minutes to edit a post that's not within the swap forums.

I wonder if it would be better to post the new thread in the swap forums and then they could be edited? All the other PIF threads use to be posted here in the general stamping forum and they were eventually moved and I'm assuming this thread may get moved anyway.

If you are unsure what to do (and if it were me) I would take the top 3 and have one last poll, but I would wait another day or so because maybe people couldn't log in over the weekend or maybe they were busy. HTH

I know you can get the thick round ones in Michael's.

Binder clips are the (usually) black clips to hold a stack of papers together if you needed more than just a paperclip. I also use them as chip clips.

I have also used hair clips to hold the sponges.

Either go with the top vote getter or put the three names on paper and pull the winning one!! - that's my vote!! Since it is so close, they are all winners!!

Sure, feel free to send me an email at - pebbles4 @ ptd.net (with no spaces) or send me a pm and I'd be happy to help you with any questions. I'll be working on some swaps today so I'll check back later.

LaLatty...LOL...no, I'm not moving this thread...I started a new thread about the "sponge" question. I was afraid we were taking over the thread. So, please continue the sponge discussion over in the Techniques topics. I think I just named it "sponging." Thanks so much.

Why don't we ask "scrapjanny" since she is the one who started the thread...About naming the other thread for posting pictures, I mean.

Anyone want to take a chance on something from me without a picture? I'm going to put together a grab-bag of all kinds of "stuff." The only hint I can give you is that it will be a nice assortment...from my point of view, anyway. First PM from CONTINENTAL U.S. gets it.

I have no complaints. I've received very lovely gifts from all those that I've requested from. It's just that sometimes you REALLY, REALLY are lusting after a particular item and you are late on those. The day that someone gave away a Graphics 45 paper pak I almost had a stroke when I read it...LOL...of course, that one went super fast and was gone by the time I read it.

I do like the idea of this thread alot and I sure hope everyone has been happy with my offerings as well.

BY THE WAY...my grab bag has been spoken for.

I sent a PM about 2 minutes after the Graphics 45 paper was posted and even I was too late! LOL But I bet it made someone in this thread really happy!

For my next giveaway, I might try to come up with something a little different than "the first one to pm me" but I'm not sure what that will be.

I am offering pieces of white organza. Each piece is 12 inches wide and approximately 8 yards long. I have about 15 pieces. When you PM me let me know how many pieces you want. First come....

Beverly and Melissa,
I got the beautiful Graphic 45 paper. Sorry. But I do LOVE it. I can describe it for you inch by inch if you want. Again, it is LOVELY and I LOVE it. Sorry.

Sorry, I had to rub it in. So naughty of me

I think whichever name has the most votes is the winner. I do think we should keep this thread on track, though, and post other questions in another thread. It might get confusing if this became a question-and-answer thread. I can understand how people feel comfortable asking questions here, because everyone is so nice to each other on this thread. But most of the people on SCS are nice anyway.

I agree...we do seem to be getting off track lately. And, yes, Donna, I'm so happy for you and your Graphics 45 paper, you stinker! LOL.

I did move the question about sponging to a new thread so I was hoping that would help.

Ok, well, then the new name for the thread where we'll go and post pictures of the items we make with our newly adopted supplies will be...

Pay It Forwad Projects

Do we just start a thread in the General Stamp section with that title?

Dang it, I would have really loved that grab bag. Oh well I've gotten some amazing things from this thread and I love it. Right now I don't have anything to pay forward but as my stash grows I promise I will contribute!

I too like the name of the thread. It clearly says what it is.

I still have about 10 strips of Organza for anyone who would like some. PM me letting me know your address and how many strips you want.

Default Happy the Pain is Fading Giveaway!

As some of you may already know, I had gallbladder surgery a little over 3 weeks ago. When I was discharged that same day, I was told I'd be able to resume my regular routine in 3 days and to take Tylenol if I had any pain. Unfortunately, there was a bit of miscommunication between the ranks of medical personnel at the hospital.

Days 1-4, I could not get out of bed without assistance.
Days 4-8, the pain was aggravated by nausea and vomiting.
Days 1-18, I was sure something had gone terribly wrong and I'd suffer from chronic pain the rest of my life.
Day 19, I had my post op and was told that my enlarged gallbladder had to be removed the old-fashioned way and that my recovery would be 5 to 6 WEEKS not 3 days! Had I been mentally prepared for what to expect, it would have been easier. And knowing what I now know about the operation, I probably should have spent a few days (instead of a few hours) in the hospital.
It is now Day 26 and this nightmare if starting to fade. I can finally sit, stand and walk for more than 30 minutes at a time. I can even drive, though bending, twisting and reaching are still a problem.

To celebrate my recovery, I have several "Happy the Pain is Fading" giveaways!

These giveaways will NOT go to the first one to pm me, but to the first person to correctly answer the question for the item you hope to win.
**You are welcome to enter for each prize, but please send a SEPARATE pm with the name of the item you hope to win in the subject line.
**You can only guess ONCE for each prize.

1) BRAYER -- This is for a brand new 4" Speedball soft rubber brayer exactly like the one in this link: Speedball Soft Rubber Brayers - BLICK art materials
QUESTION: My father was named after an outlaw. What was that outlaw's last name? (Hint: It was not Earp or James)

2) DAINTY: This is for a brand new Close to My Heart stamp set named "Dainty". Here is a photo of it: CTMH Stamp Sets :: B1203Dainty.jpg picture by disneymelissa59 - Photobucket
QUESTION: How many El Mexicano drinkable Yogurts did I drink during the first 24 days of my recovery? (Hint: Pick a number between 1 and 50. If nobody guesses the exact number by 10 a.m. Pacific Time tomorrow 11/9, I'll choose the person who guesses closest without going over.)

3) CHIPBOARD: This is for two unopened packages of small Christmas chipboard pieces. Some are a little larger than a quarter and others are the size of a dime, perfect for decorating cards, an advent calendar, scrapbook page, etc. Here is a photo: CTMH Stamp Sets :: ChristmasChipboard.jpg picture by disneymelissa59 - Photobucket
QUESTION: How many full size (not cats eye) ink pads do I own? (Hint: Pick a number between 1 and 50. If nobody guesses the exact amount by 10 a.m. 11/9 Pacific Time, I'll choose the person who comes closest without going over.)

The BRAYER has been won!
Eagles777 has correctly guessed the last name: Dalton

My father, whose first and middle name is Emmett Dalton, was named after one of the Dalton gang: Emmett Dalton - Outlaw
Why my grandmother would do that is anybody's guess!

Speaking of guesses ...
I'm still taking guesses for DAINTY and CHIPBOARD (see Post #954 above)
