Do any of you ever buy something because you're afraid you'll run out and not find that item again????? I find myself doing that with bling -- pearl, gemstones, rhinestones.
I buy almost all of my supplies with that thought and definitely is the reason I bought all the paper I have. Unrealistic, but I'm afraid I won't find it again. The sad part is, most of the time, I end up not using the duplicates.
Thats funny you said that because I had been looking at these little flower embelishments from SU for a few months...then they went on clearance so I decided to order some. When I went to get them, they were gone :( I went on Ebay and got 2 of them and now I am afraid to use them! So, I guess I don't just buy things I am afraid I won't get again...but I don't USE the things I HAVE because I think I will never find again! I did some orginizing today though and found that I have a 5 gallon ice cream bucket filled with embelishments now!!! Not bad considering a month ago I did not even have any ribbon I guess I could stand to get some of them onto some cards now though!!!

Oh yes, indeed. But I'm trying to work hard on using things with the hope that something nicer and better will be around when I do run out. After all, consumables are meant to be consumable ;-). However, in hindsight I'd have got at least two more pads of Basic Grey Blush, that was my favourite ever of their papers, and I have a card that I made with it about 4 years ago that I still can't bring myself to use because I can't make the same one again.
OMG, I thought I was the only one who did this! You would laugh at how many Prima Romani flowers I have in my stash. They were discontinued,so I bought several sets in all colors. Guess what? They are still there in my drawer, I'm afraid to use them! Am I sick or what?
Wow! It's so good to know that there are others... hehe
In my own defense though, there are no LSS within 2 hrs of here so when I find something that I like when I do get to go to one, I stock up. Of course, if you look at my stash, you would think that I don't have access to the internet where I could likely buy things just about anytime! LOL
I am a sucker for buying things that are going to be discontinued! I hoard lots of my SU colors that I know I can't get anymore and some of my favorite stamps are disc (but of course, I don't need multiples of the stamps, LOL!)

Ah, YES! My problem, however, is knowing that I have that embellishment or got to have item and then I can't "find it" in my stamping room! I spend more time trying to locate things....I know I have way too much stuff but it's all so cute I can't resist...and yes, I'm worried I'll never find that wonderful whatever item again!
Yes! I had to stop because I have a clutter problem. I can't stand it. Don't get me wrong I can go into a clutter home and no judging eye from me. I actually feel cozy and at home with clutter around me. Just not in my home! I go postal, lol.
Instead of buying doubles of everything I started to learn how to make my own supplies. If I run out I can make it. I do still stock up on a few small items just in case.
I stock up on cardstock and adhesive, I use to do this with bling and flowers until I realized that I had way to much of them so I started using them. When our insurance started going up and the replacement value for my craft room was getting close to the same amount as the replacement value of the rest of the house I had to make a change and now I love using up the supplies that I have on hand and I only order/buy things that I really need for a project that I am doing.
I used to. Now I am ok with using it. In fact I have challenged myself to use it because I don't want to ever have to move it again. I just want to organize it and play with it.
I started to think about the "hoarding" of supplies and it reminded me of when I got a doll for Christmas and was told I had to keep the packaging on it. Yeah, I can understand in a collectable world but when a kid just wants to play with a doll it's a rubbish gift.
Maybe we all need to scrap our card making life and write personal odes to different supplies then we have a memory and can let go. LOL.
This week I have nearly emptied my pot of gold embossing powder. I have actually run out mid-project (probably don't have enough to complete another card). Oh well, I have silver, or red, blue, green, etc... I feel good about it. Truthfully I was concerned it had gone off (apparently some can dull) so I was pleased to use it up.
Yes and no.

I collect dolls. I unbox my dolls and display them. I know I ruined the value of the dolls doing that. The way I look at it they're my dolls and I want to enjoy them. Plus, I feel like the poor doll is in captivity when she is in the box.
I had people gasp when I used what they thought was a lot of SU! Hodgepodge Hardware on swaps. They could not believe I would use up a whole box of the stuff on swaps. I haven't missed it tho.
