I counted my non-SU! sets, too. I have a box of probably at least 30 more sets that in the 'to go' pile because they don't get used often. I also have so many singles I'm sure that I could tip waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay into a new category

I am in the majority too...it feels good...not that I have to keep up with anyone by any means, but it's nice to know that my obsession could be worse, yet there are many who are right there with me!

I ticked the box for 1000, but I must confess I don't know how many stamps I ACTUALLY have. I have quite a few sets, but mostly singles- but I have been collecting for over 20 years, you see. Everyone once in a while I take a look and see if there are any I could do without- and I might winnow out one or two and give them away. I have "treated" my two granddaughters and two great nieces with stamps from time to time. I think I have only bought a duplicate stamp twice, which must mean that having and collecting all these things has kept my mind sharp ( talk about rationalization!).
I did count my stamps a few years ago and I had about 600 THEN. A lot of the stamps I have bought in the last few years are the unmounted ones, and some of those have 20 in a set. I would count each individual stamp as I use them individually. I don't see the sense of counting a set of 20 as one stamp, which a friend does. Maybe she finds it easier to count her stamps. Mainly I USE my stamps, not sit around counting them, LOL. No offense meant.

Just counted/estimated my SU sets, and the few (? - lol) misc. sets that I own. That puts me in the 50-100 range. BUT............I have at least a 750 loose individual stamps, all catagorized, sorted and stored in 23 clear plastic shoeboxes. And then there are the background stamps, and the wheels............... Didn't include these. Thanks to whoever started this......I don't feel nearly so obsessed. Great poll!

I just did a quick count and had slightly over 100. I didn't count any singles except my great big background stamps. I think all those acrylic sets are sneaking up on me. They fit so nicely in a great big binder that you don't realize just how many you've collected already.

Anyway, thanks for the fun poll--I had never counted before! It's interesting to see where we fit in the overall range. If I tried to count all the supplies I have for all the fun techniques I would really be in trouble, tho...

I very often have friends over to "play with my toys" . Everyone laughs when I say that- but it's true, as far as I am concerned. These are my toys and I love to play with them.
I have taught each one of my EIGHT grandkids how to stamp from the time they were 3 years old. They might not all stamp NOW, but they sure know how to. My oldest granddaughter (13) loves to stamp and make cards, ATC's and Inchies. I gave her a basket of her own "toys" for her birthday, and for Christmas she is getting a heat tool. I asked her if she would like one and her eyes lit up like a couple of headlights.
Problem with inviting people over is- that you'd have to travel to the West Coast of BC (Canada)...not that that would be difficult- our weather is like Seattle's, not Toronto's weather.

I'll go to BC, I hear its pretty. I'll pack my bear mace and if we don't have to use it on a grizzly, we can figure out a new technique for a card! After all, if you can use soot or simple green, why not?

I agree with you- about always wanting more than you have... I try NOT to but I see a stamp and I think to myself, think I " oooh, I could use that stamp... I could do this and that". So, in the end I buy it, and try to use it with paper, acetate, clay, game tiles, fabric, cards, atc's, inchies, etc.
Wouldn't you like to see my craft room? heh heh Friends walk into my craft room and are a little awe-struck- partly because it is rather crowded. All that stuff I mentioned above has to go somewhere, you know.

Default Totally addicted!

I'm an "over 1000" entry. A minority I see. We have an estimate 4500+ individual stamps. This includes stamps from sets (we store them by type now). We've only gotten rid of a couple of duplicates.
We (mom and I) have been stamping for about 9 years. We went to a SU party and quickly became addicted. (Demo-ed to myself for 5 years.)
We initially tracked stamps by stamping them in a steno-notepad. Mom thought it was ugly so we started another index - white pages in a three-ring binder by category. We also have a document on the computer with stamp #, description, where/who brought from, when, and if free/gift.
The 1 1/2" binder now has over 300 pages of stamps. (I have another binder with stencil, fiber, bead, glitter, embossed powder, paint, ink, and marker samples, too. These are NOT on the computer though.)
It's nice to have stuff on the computer because then I can do a search for a particular stamp. In retrospect - I wish we would have scanned the images, too, for indexing and searching. Perhaps once I'm retired I'll have time for that....... nah - I'd prefer to stamp more.
So - #11 and #31 (and anyone else) - I'm in Madison, Wisconsin and have a HUGE stamp room with tables for 8-10 people. If you're in the area - let me know and we'll PLAY! (Did I mention we have 250 REAMS of various papers?!?!)

I need therapy or perhaps and intervention. I have around 350 sets. If I count them plus all my other rubber, I'm at around 4,000 stamps. And, yes, I do get around to using most of them. I keep wanting to go through a get rid of the ones I KNOW I'll never use, but I haven't run out of storage space for them. I think I will make this my winter doldrum project... or maybe not, Help, so out of control!!

Wow, I was a bit shocked to discover that I have 256 Stampin' Up sets. :O Including all my other sets, both wood and acrylic, bumped it up to 386. I didn't count my 69 wheels or many individual stamps. Yikes! I knew I had a lot, but nowhere near that much! :O

31 bins with aprox 16 set capacity each is....nearly 500...
holeecatz!
now this is a guess because I separate into categories but I still store in stampcases....
almost 50 wheels...
umm AND I have two boxes MIA with UPS...so umm...
I guess I have moved from hobby to obsession...
( a little shocked! shhhhh!don't tell my husband!)

wow I should actually do a count and advertise!
I rent my space and stuff ( sell consumables of course) but it has been slow (no! )business for this whole catty...
I guess they picture me here alone in my basement with one bg stamp an alphaset and 3 pieces of paper...
I may need to paint a more accurate picture with words and put my insanity right out there for potential customers to see!

I have my stamps in clear plastic bins on rollers- the kind with 6 drawers each- I have two of those and then I also have another rolling cart with my clear stamps in the top drawer of that one. The twelve drawers I have put the stamps in are in groups :animals; flying things(which also includes gargoyles and penguins- which don't actually fly); Egyptian; Oriental and other nationalities; faces and heads; 2 drawers (large) of flowers; one large drawer of Christmas stamps; sayings; postage and blank; one I call my "body parts" (everyone laughs at that) which means some clothing stamps too; and three small drawers of miscellaneous, but still important stamps.
I always know where to find a particular stamp this way. I also have binder with the unmounted rubber stamps in it.
So as you can tell it would be hard to count all the stamps I have, unless I were to spend considerable time at it, and guess what, I'd rather be stamping. LOL

Gosh, I didn't realize how many I had. Don't tell DH. I didn't count the individual stamps that I have bought at Michaels, Hobby Lobby & online.
I included my background stamps but not my wheels and acrylic sets in my vote of 168. With the wheels & acrylics I have 204 but like I said, I didn't include them in my vote. I'm too lazy to count the individual stamps. I've bought lots of my SU sets on Ebay because I really like the retired sets so much better than some of the current ones.

What is SU market place online?

I have between 100 and 200 SU stamp sets...and I have only been stamping three years! I also don't plan to sell any of my SU sets...I bought them because I love them. I also have a lot of non-SU stamps not included in my count. I will probably sell many of those...because I bought a lot of those before I knew what I was doing and before I discovered SU.

Fun poll!

If your demo has an SU website, you can order online from her. Go to her site and click "SHOP NOW"

My mom came to visit for a few days and we stamped all the SU sets into an alphabetized 3 ring binder. She did a count on the last day... 127 sets. But I think I am on the low end compared to some others.
I can't wait to show my boyfriend how many stamps everyone else has. Of course he will continue to think I have too many!!
