Default Re: ideas

I am my DD's Daisy troop co-leader this year. We are having a parent mtg for all of the mom's to go over troop dues, volunteer opportunities, etc... I wanted to make a small (cheap) little gift for them to pick up at the mtg--any thoughts or ideas on something cute and easy to make and maybe stick in a basket for them to pick up while they are at the mtg?

GIL.....Since the name of your group is Daisy, does it have anything to do with the flower? I'm not familiar with what the point of the group is. Perhaps you could make a daisy flower and mount it on a straw with a brad (straw being the stem of flower). Flower could be cut from cardstock and just 2-3 layers and attached.

Or some other image that is significant to the point of the group.

Perhaps just a fold over card with the schedule of meetings for the girls and listing any special events. List the time and dates of the meetings and location. Just as a reminder for the parents.

Thanks for the ideas--Tortuga--how do you make the clothespin magnets--I have not seen these made before. I was also thinking along the lines of some type of food treat--for them to snack on during the meeting. Oh--someone asked what Daisies is--it is the early beginning of Girl Scouts--kind and 1st graders are Daisies.

I like the magnetic closepin idea - they can use it to hang meeting and field trip reminders (and permission slips) on the refrig so they don't forget!

Good luck with the troop (I've been a GS leader for 6 years). It is a lot of fun and Daisy's is a good age - they are thrilled with almost any activity.

My troop of Juniors will be making no mess s'mores for our moms this year -- in a box like this (with Girl Scout colors/decorations):

KiyomiKrafts: 3-D Projects

I made some of the no mess smores mix for our leaders meeting and it's a big hit with the kids & the moms!
