Yay! Mine came today in the mail. Didn't decorate them, just filled them with a little bag of Skittles I found in the cabinet. My 9yo & 7yo think they are just the bees knees!!

Louise - I made a temp funnel with a sheet of copy paper rolled up tight! Only a little bit of spit when I licked my finger to get the roll to tighten up a bit and tape, no chewing gum, though! LOL

Laura, I just have to say that I LOVE your signature! I might have to "borrow" it sometime, if that's OK. (Or should that be KO?)

LOL - Go right ahead! I CASED it from a t-shirt a while back. Coincidentally, my mom just gave me that exact t-shirt for my birthday yesterday! Boy, does she know me or what??!

Subbing so I can make some notes and find the pretzel rod bags. Saw the cutest sample at my SU workshop today (new owl punch was used as the decoration at the top). I MUST make these because they are too cute for words!!!

The bag was filled with M & M's stacked on top of each other, so they made a nice long flat stack ....now that I think about it the M&M's seemed on the large size. I wonder if they were some special brand of m&m style candies? I'll ask my demo to examine the package more carefully and see if she thinks they are regular m&m's. All I know is that they were absolute eye-candy (as well as real candy) and I think they would be a big hit at bazaars and fall markets.

well when I was looking at the bags at Micheals today I thought they were a little big and didnt know if they would hold just one stack of M&M's or like 2. They just looked kind of big to me compared to some one the ones that have been shown on here.

The ones that are advertised at pretzel bags are too big for a single stack of M&M's, I think they are 2x8 instead of 1x8. If they are different, bigger, candy it might work.

I looked at Clearbags.com, but the shipping was outrageous. It was $13 + $3 for a small order fee (under $40). I ended up ordering from GT Bags, which had them for the same price, a much more reasonable shipping charge, and no small order fee. If I were going in on a large order with someone else, Clearbags would have been better.

You can get the peanut M&M's in the 1x8 bags...they just go in the bag end to end.

Here is a pix of some I made at Easter:

Has anyone used any other candy yet in the 1x8 bags? I have m&ms and skittles. I've seen Reese's Pieces and jelly beans. Glad to hear the peanut m&ms fit, too! Anything else yet?

The pretzel bags at Michael's are great for the covered peppermint patties....I think that I posted this earlier in this thread, but here are a couple ideas for you:

And of course, the chocolate covered pretzels with the candy coating and sprinkles are so cute too! I have also used them as packaging for bookmarks with a topper. I'll have to see if I have a picture of them....

Here is the link: G.T. Bag Company - Ultra Clear Header Bags

Enjoy! Once you get the hang of filling them they are a lot of fun! And so many uses!

How are you guys attaching the cs to the bags?

Looks like some are punching holes in the cs and tying ribbon around the bag and knotting on the front of the cs; others look to be glued/taped to the bags.

Thanks for sharing! I ordered some bags last week after seeing this thread and got them today from G.T. - they should totally give you some free goodies for enabling so many of us!!
Quick question - when you use the plain m&ms or the skittles, do you fill the bags up to the top, or do you leave any space for attaching the CS tags?

Thanks so much!!

Ok....this is where my "Crafting OCD" kicks in. I have a list of each candy and how many you can get in each stix and how many stix you can get from a bag! I KNOW!!!!!

Regular m&M's : 25 candies per stix / 15 stix per bag
Skittles: 19 candies per stix / 18 stix per bag

These #'s do leave room at the top to attach your tag or topper.

I use some elastic cord to tie the tops of the bags closed and then tie the ribbon to the tag. (I use my Crop A Dile to punch 2 holes in the tag)

For the scallop circle tags, I staple the tag onto the bag first, then use glue or pop dot to attach the 1 3/8 and 1 1/4 circle punches so that it covers the staple.

Hope that makes sense?

I ordered 5pkgs. of 100 bags (1x and it was $20.00 and $4.95 s&h. At clearbags.com, the shipping was more than what my order was so went to gt instead....

Kaitysmom, thank you so very much for all the specifics of how many candies (by variety ) fit in the bags and also how you finished off the tops. All VERY helpful information and it will make them much easier to make successfully.

I am so excited about making these for our fall church bazaar. They are so stinkin' cute that everyone will go nuts when they see them. And buy them!

Thanks again, Kaitysmom!

Default More m&m Stix

Hi there...here is the latest batch of m&m stix for my craft shows this year....

100_5835.jpg

Had some leftover light blue m&m's from a baby shower that I hosted last week and decided to use them for a snowman themed treat for craft shows. I wanted to use some white ones in there too, but these were already bagged up and I didn't want to re-work them!

Thanks for looking!
