Default Question about Staples (the store)

I'm looking to bring a few pages in to Staples to get copies made. Do you know if they allow you to bring in your own paper to use? I'd like these pages printed on cardstock instead of regular copy paper.

Plus I believe I watched a video at one point (could have been Jennifer McGuire's) and she said she brings in a bunch of cardstock into Kinkos and has them cut them to whatever size she specifies. I'm just wondering if Staples has the same service? I don't have a Kinkos around me.

And if they do, do you know how much they charge? I tried looking up on their website but can't find anything. I'd like to buy a pack of white and a pack of vanilla cardstock and have them just cut them in half.

I've taken in my own paper/cardstock for printing, but can't speak to the cutting, since I've never tried. You could always call the store and ask...

Do you have a FedEx near you? Kinkos is part of FedEx now.

I’ve had bad luck getting paper cut accurately in big box office supply stores, even when bringing both a template and cut pieces. (I was getting CS inserts cut to put in pockets; maybe just cutting in half would have worked better.) But I haven’t tried Kinkos, and went another route to cut multiples.

The Staples that used to be nearby allowed me to bring in my own paper as did Office Depot/Max.That was a while ago though and the Staples closed.

Here’s one of the videos where JM discusses it a bit - about about 5:40.

Thanks!

I actually stopped by yesterday since I had something to make copies of and asked. Yes, they do cut. Good to know. I just might bring in a pack of white and a pack of vanilla cardstock and have them cut them in half for me. Give it a whirl and see if it's worth it.

If you've ever tried to cut too many sheets at one time, you'll know the uneven look I'm talking about. That's what my paper looked like after Staples cut it for me. I had to pay for it anyway.

Do you remember how many sheets you had cut at one time? The girl told me they can cut up to like 200 pages at once. That seemed a bit much to me and I even thought that the paper might shift and it come out uneven. Maybe if I kept it at like 50 pieces at a time. She said it would be like $3 per cut.

Essentially I would like to bring in a couple packs of white and a couple vanilla. Cut one of each pack in half for card bases and then cut one of each into slightly smaller panels for the inside of cards or a second layer on the base of the card so (5.25x4) So if my calculations are correct, that should be $25 for them to cut all 4 packs. I just might splurge this one time and see how things come out

When we lived in NJ, there was a Staples store nearby. We went often. I used their tape runner for my go to adhesive. We participated in their rewards program and I routinely used the "free money " to buy those tape runners. Sadly, there is no Staples in the Omaha area.
