Question question about selling cards

I was wondering if there are any rules or regulations on selling cards at craft shows or in boutiques, etc. Thank you for your help...

You can sell cards made with SU! images as long as it's not at a permanent retail location, such as a boutique, hairdresser's, gift shop, etc., and it must have the SU! copyright symbol stamped on the back

Every stamp company has it's own copyright policy. Check out their websites to see what each one says. TAC let's you do pretty much whatever, I believe. Su and CTMH have more restrictions.

TAC = The Angel Company. I've never bought any TAC stuff, but I'm sure you can google it for the website.

Many of the stamp brands sold in the big chain craft stores are VERY restrictive, so I definitely recommend doing some research.

I too have talked to TAC. I'm pretty sure that they told me I could sell my cards anywhere. There catalog is cute. I also like that they don't have so many rules.

With The Angel Company stamps there is no restriction on where you sell your items as long as the images are handstamped. This can be a fixed location, seasonal, online, etc. You can also use them for business purposes as long as they are hand stamped (i.e. flyers, business cards, etc). You just cannot mechanically reproduce the image.

Several other companies also have full Angel Policies (can sell anywhere with no restrictions). Most have their Angel policy right on their website.

Inkedfingers put a couple of links to great sites that have the angel policies for loads of stamping companies, so this might help you out (I thought it was awesome!)

Good luck!

Question

Does anyone here actually sell their cards? I have thought about doing this in the past, but this thread got me contemplating it once again. If you don't mind my asking, how much do you charge?

It depends a great deal on where you are. A card that goes for $4 in one town might barely bring $2 somewhere else.

I headed up a fundraiser card sale last spring at my school where we sold Mother's Day cards for $3 each. That's more than people seem to usually be able to get, but we were selling to design students and professors at an art college.

I sell my simple cards with no hardware type embellishments for $3.50 and my cards with embellishments for $5.00. I also make handmade cards that sell in a baby boutique. She sells them for $6.50 to $7.00 apiece and they seem to be sell well.

The most I can sell mine for and have them go fairly regularly is $2. Other people have theirs marked for $3-5 and they rarely sell.

I sell mine for 2.99 and sell them all day long. I know someone who sells hers for 4.99 and she does not do as well. It is a hard thing. I do know someplaces sell handmade ones for 7.00-8.00 and people buy them, it prob. would not be me that does though.
