Would anyone be offended...
...if I downloaded cards that I am sending in for a Swap before they are sent in the mail?

Confused by the question. Are you sending some cards to a hostess for a swap or are you the hostess and posting other peoples' cards? I would be offended only if someone posted my cards, even if I was given credit. But if you've done work you are proud of, post them. You don't have to say they are for a swap, you can surprise people if they happen to see them here first.

I'm new to swapping, but I certainly wouldn't be offended! In fact, I'm doing a card for a swap I'm in that I posted here a month or so ago. It got such a positive response, I decided to make it my swap card. Is that a swapping no-no? I figured that since it was my idea (not like I'm using someone else's idea that might also be in the swap), that it would be OK. Yikes! Maybe I'm totally off as to what's acceptable swap protocol! I'm anxious to hear what other people think about this.

IMO, the swap participants still get the real thing to oooh and aahh over, so it shouldn't matter if they've seen the image online beforehand.

Go for it! I tend to upload mine before they get sent to the swap hostess, too. Some special swaps that I've heard of require secrecy, but for the most part. . . I'd say upload them! Let all of us not in the swap oooh & aaah and be jealous!

Part of participating in a swap is to have a card you can show your customers. If you have done something you are proud of, then post it. More than likely there will be customers that do not visit this site.

And sorry about the misundertanding before. I thought you were possibly asking to post participants' cards.

Thanks everyone!!! I will post them.

Thanks for asking! I was wondering the same thing. I just sent my swaps out yesterday, but made a few extra cause I liked how they turned out and wanted to add it to my gallery.

I try to wait till the swaps are on their way from the hostess to the swappers before I post as a courtesy. But I don't usually care if someone posts before that.
